Please review and ensure that you have enough money in your budget to cover the expenses before you submit the paperwork to accounts payable. If you need to do a budget transfer, please submit to Sandy Niemann.

Peer Tutoring

Limited peer tutoring is available for summer courses. Peer tutors work with students who want extra support for a wide variety of LLCC courses. Students work with peer tutors to review course content, get help with homework, prepare for quizzes and tests or just to have an accountability partner. Whatever a student’s goals, working with a peer tutor is a great way to practice academic habits that lead to success. Faculty can include information about peer tutor availability in their Canvas course shells using the link or embed code.

Juneteenth Fact of the Day

The Journey of JuneteenthJuneteenth fact: There are various theories as to why the Emancipation Proclamation wasn’t immediately enforced in Texas. News traveled slowly in those days, but the 30 month gap between Lincoln’s proclamation and the enslaved people’s freedom led to much speculation. It is likely that Lincoln’s proclamation was not enforceable in rebel states until the end of the war. See more Juneteenth facts from Mental Floss.

Make plans to celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day at LLCC on June 19, 2024, with the second annual Freedom Walk at 8:30 a.m. Each day before the celebration, the LLCC Juneteenth Committee will share a fact about this historic day.
