Recent grad receives diploma before overseas deployment

Overcoming various setbacks and struggles, Ben Campbell finished his LLCC degree this fall, a process he started in 2010 before joining the Air National Guard. He won’t be able to attend graduation in May because he is deploying soon with the Air Force. College officials held a brief ceremony yesterday to confer his diploma. “I am a man of few words,” said Ben, “It’s been a long journey, and I honestly wouldn’t have made it without the help of (Vice President) Lesley (Frederick). She was with me every step of the way. Also thank you to the TRIO program for your support. Words can’t express how much this means to me.”
