Update to Leave Time Report

When you review your Leave Time Report in Etrieve, you will now see in the comment section the word PROCESSED along with the date the Certificate of Absence (CoA) was processed and its unique record ID.

Type: Vacation, Leave Action: U, Leave Hours: -8, Leave Date: 09/06/2019, Comments: PROCESSED 09-06-2019 31375; Type: Vacation, Leave Action: U, Leave Hours: -8, Leave Date: 09/05/2019, Comments: PROCESSED 09-06-19 31372; Type: Vacation, Leave Action: U, Leave Hours: -8, Leave Date: 09/04/2019, Comments: PROCESSED 09-06-19 31373; Type: Vacation, Leave Action: U, Leave Hours: -8, Leave Date: 09/03/2019, Comments: PROCESSED 09-06-19 31374
This change has occurred thanks to the hard work of the IT development staff.  They built an automated process in Colleague that allows us to review CoAs and post them to employee’s records in batches. Employee Leave Time Balances will be more timely since there is less manual work required in order to process CoAs.  Supervisors should note that they are still expected to review CoAs for accuracy (in dates, leave types and hours) and verify that leave time balances can cover the absence. If you have any questions, please contact LLCC Human Resources at 786-2752.

“Coffee With a Cop” today, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Coffee with a CopOfficers from the LLCC Police Department and the LLCC community (students, faculty and staff) are invited to come together today, Sept. 10t in an informal, neutral space to discuss issues, build relationships and enjoy a cup of coffee. Come join us from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons.

Coffee with a Cop” provides a unique opportunity for individuals to ask questions, bring concerns and learn more about the department’s work.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building, and some individuals may feel that officers are unapproachable on campus. “Coffee with a Cop” is designed to break down barriers and allows for relaxed, one-on-one interactions.

“Coffee with a Cop” is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are held across the county, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.

The program aims to advance relationships between police officers and individuals one cup of coffee at a time.

“elemental” by Laura Anderson in Murray Gallery through Sept. 12

"Deliverance" by Laura AndersonThere is still time to view the art exhibit “elemental,” featuring mixed media paintings by Laura Anderson, LLCC assistant professor of art,  in LLCC’s James S. Murray Gallery through Sept. 12. The public is invited to view the exhibit weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Anderson’s work is inspired by the natural world, including its complexities, commonalities, mysteries and working processes. “We are part of nature, yet we’re set apart from it in many ways,” she explains. “My work explores the intersection of this duality, often via drawn or painted natural imagery combined with collaged artifacts and urban landscapes that reflect the man-made world.”
