End of Fiscal Year 2020 deadlines

Budget managers — As we are rapidly approaching the end of another fiscal year, please note the following dates to help facilitate your end of year spending:

Last date for all major purchases – April 10, 2020

  • Purchases for office furniture, equipment, materials or supplies that have longer lead times should be placed in order to ensure timely delivery of order. Please be aware in case of longer lead times or back orders, you may not receive your order by the June 30 deadline. In this case, you may have to pay out of FY21 funds.
  • An online requisition must be done and approved by corresponding budget manager(s), with correct account number(s), and forwarded to LLCC Purchasing.

Last date purchase orders will be issued – May 21, 2020

  • This will be the last day a purchase order will be used to order anything.
  • An online requisition must be completed prior to this date which includes approval by corresponding budget manager(s), with correct account number(s) and forwarded to LLCC Purchasing by the above date
  • That also means your budget transfer(s) should have already been submitted to LLCC Budgeting, should there be a need to do that.

Last date to order items on a Blanket Purchase Order – May 21, 2020

  • This includes Office Depot/Staples blankets.

Last date to process payments on a Blanket Purchase Order – June 11, 2020

  • All supporting documentation, invoices and Blanket Purchase Order payment requests must be approved by corresponding budget manager(s) and submitted to LLCC Accounts Payable by 5 p.m. on June 11.

Only emergency purchases will be allowed after the above dates, and as such must have the appropriate approvals.

  • Purchases will require written approval from your appropriate cabinet member prior to the purchase.
  • Due to audit cut off dates, unless such purchases are received on campus by June 30 the purchase will be charged to your FY21 budget.

Grant purchases – above dates apply to grants ending June 30, 2020

  • For those grants that do not end on June 30, 2020, please work closely with Sarah Goodman, Jeremy Bliss and LLCC Purchasing to facilitate your purchases.

March 25 blood drive canceled

LLCC Student Life and Agriculture Club have canceled the upcoming blood drive that was scheduled for March 25. If you planned to donate, we hope you can find some alternative date/time to donate! Donations have dropped drastically due to the recent climate. Please continue reading for more information from the Central Illinois Community Blood Center.

COVID-19 Response Donors Needed
Nationally, and here in our region, the blood supply is being adversely impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19. In some places, elective surgery is already being canceled for blood availability. Most activities have been canceled, and more people are staying home. The pandemic is having a significant impact on participation in blood drives.

We would emphasize COVID-19 presents no known risk to the safety of the nation’s blood supply, only the adequacy of the supply at this time. Individuals are not at risk of contracting COVID-19 from donating blood.

If you are healthy, please consider donating! Read more, and view guidelines.

Message from the president

Students, faculty and staff,

I want to assure you that the health, safety and well-being of our college community are our highest priorities. In light of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, our leadership team has been meeting and considering the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Lincoln Land Community College is taking the following preventative measures:

  • For students, we will extend spring break by one additional week (March 16-22) for all classes.
  • Though classes will not meet, the college will be open. Staff should report to work as usual.
  • Faculty will work (either on campus or remotely) on ensuring that they will be able to instruct their students remotely beginning Monday, March 23. More information on preparing classes for adaptive modes of teaching will be provided.
  • This week, faculty and staff are encouraged to remain in their workspaces as much as possible, practicing reasonable social distancing.
  • Faculty and staff who have recently traveled to CDC identified high risk countries should speak to their supervisor and Human Resources for permission to work from home for a 14-day period of self-quarantine.
  • Faculty and staff exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus are asked to contact their health care provider and follow their instructions. All employees who are feeling ill should take sick leave and stay home from work.
  • All student travel and non-essential employee travel are suspended for the foreseeable future. Any previously approved employee travel must be resubmitted for consideration.
  • The LLCC Child Development Center will remain open with regular business hours.
  • LLCC Community Education classes are canceled until further notice.
  • All activities involving community groups meeting on the LLCC campus or at any LLCC Outreach Center are canceled until further notice.
  • A polling place for primary election voting on March 17 will be open in Montgomery Hall.
  • Bistro Verde will be closed until further notice.
  • The Midwest Athletic Conference has canceled all softball and baseball (including the LLCC Loggers teams) games until April 1.
  • Quiznos is the lower level of Menard Hall will be closed this week.

Although no classes will be held this week, the college will be open as we prepare for adaptive modes of teaching through the duration of this health crisis. Our facilities staff is taking extra measures to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.

Additional communications will be sent as warranted, and updates will be posted on www.llcc.edu.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding as we work together to continue to provide a safe learning environment for our students.
