Professional Development Day and LEAGUE Luncheon

Spring 2025 Professional Development Day will be held tomorrow, March 25. Division/department heads have coordinated activities for their departments.

LEAGUE 2025 LLCC Foundation Catch the Wave.The LEAGUE Luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union. All faculty and staff are invited to catch the wave and join the LEAGUE Committee for fabulous food, entertainment, games and prizes. The theme is surfing. Feel free to wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt or luau attire as long as it is appropriate for the workplace. And don’t forget to bring your decorated surfboard for people to vote on their favorite.

Professional Development Day Schedule for today

Fall 2024 Professional Development Day happens today. An overview of the staff professional development day activities can be found on the HR portal.

Please note one schedule change that is not reflected in the schedule-at-a-glance. Due to the weather, there will be a slight change to the schedule. “Birds of a Feather: Bridging the Student Perception Gap between Field Research and Biotech Lab Experience” at 1-1:50 p.m., with Tony Rothering and Stacey Olson, will move indoors to Sangamon 1133. The 2-2:50 p.m. time for this session has been cancelled.

  • 8:15-9:45 a.m. – Concurrent sessions
  • 10 – 11:30 a.m. – Concurrent sessions
  • 11:30-12:45 p.m. – Catered lunch by Human Resources in the Student Union, “Using Ture Colors Personality Assessment in the Workplace,” with Bryan Goers
  • 1-1:50 p.m. – Concurrent sessions
  • 2-2:50 p.m. – Concurrent sessions
  • 3-3:30 p.m. – Ice cream social provided by Human Resources in A. Lincoln Commons
  • 3-4:30 p.m. – Concurrent sesssions

  • 4:40-5:30 p.m. – Canvas spotlight: 10 minute mini-sesssions on various functions in Canvas; move from room to room as you wish
  • 5:30-6 p.m. – Boxed dinner for faculty, provided by AIeL. Pick up in the Student Union
  • 6-8 p.m. – Academic department programming
