Sign up to help out at the Welcome Week table

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during fall Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome table in A. Lincoln Commons Aug. 22-25 during the first week of fall classes.

Help students get a great start to the semester by greeting them, answering their questions, providing directions and encouraging them to stop by the Welcome Week events hosted by LLCC Student Life! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes.

To sign up, add your name to this fall Welcome Week sign-up sheet or contact Rhilee Cochran.

Fire alarm testing begins today

LLCC Facilities Services is performing annual testing of fire alarm systems in the majority of main campus and Outreach Center buildings beginning today, Aug. 1. During testing it is necessary to periodically activate the system horns and strobes, but we strive to keep disruptions to a minimum.

Your patience is appreciated as we perform these vital services. As always, please contact Facilities Services at 217-786-2304 with any questions or concerns.

CAS August student worker of the month

Hannah TolanCongratulations to Hannah Tolan who is the LLCC Center for Academic Success’ August student worker of the month! Hannah is one of only three peer tutors who worked through the summer, providing essential coverage for the LLCC Math Center. In addition to their own course work and their other student worker position on campus, Hannah is adaptive to the center’s needs to provide essential academic support to our students. Hannah is always flexible with scheduling, and their attention to detail and suggestions for updates and improvements have helped keep the Math Center running smoothly during the summer months. Hannah is a motivated self-starter, and CAS is excited for them to continue working and providing tutoring support to students in the Math Center this fall.
