Sign up to help at Welcome Week tables

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during summer Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome tables in A. Lincoln Commons, Workforce Careers Center, Montgomery Hall and Logan Hall June 9-12 during the first week of summer session.

Help students get a great start to the term by greeting them, answering their questions and providing directions! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes.

The next KUDOS award announcement will be made in mid-June, but you don’t have to wait to show your appreciation for a colleague!

  1. If a colleague has done something special and deserves a note of thanks, stop by the PRM office (Menard Hall) for an LLCC thank you card.
  2. If you’d like to recognize a larger group or department, submit the information for a LincIn post. Include a photo, if you are able.
  3. If someone has gone above and beyond their job responsibilities, you can nominate them at any time to be included in the next KUDOS (Key or Unique Demonstrations of Outstanding Service) award announcement.

Updated college letterhead available

Updated versions of the college letterhead are available. The LLCC Printshop has hard copies of the main letterhead available for pickup. Updated digital MS Word versions of letterhead are available on the LLCC Employee Portal  > PRM Sharepoint page in the Letterhead section. To use, please download to desktop and then open in Word, or right–click on the more options icon (the three dots to the right of the file name) and open with Word.

They will be accepted through Friday, April 25. Faculty and staff can nominate a deserving colleague by submitting the KUDOS form (also available by clicking on the KUDOS tab in the upper-right corner of LincIn). The KUDOS awards will be announced on Friday, May 9.

The KUDOS awards are an informal way to recognize the special contributions — small and large — made by faculty and staff that create the positive environment that is LLCC.

Reminder: PRM has thank you cards if you’d like to personalize a note of gratitude for a coworker.

Celebrating Community College Month with our LLCC alums

April is Community College Month. This year’s theme is “Best Decision Ever.” We are celebrating with some of our LLCC faculty and staff and who are proud alums and tell us why choosing LLCC was the “Best Decision Ever.”

Brandon Lewis, WEI program navigator, says, “Attending LLCC was the best decision because it allowed me the opportunity to reinvent myself and find the support I needed to flourish into the proud individual I am today.”

Cathy Huffman, assistant director, LLCC Career Center says, “LLCC was a great place to build a foundation for learning, where I made valuable connections, prepared to transfer and advanced toward a rewarding career.”

Robin Ackman, curriculum specialist, LLCC Academic Services, says, “LLCC was a fantastic decision for me because it allowed me to start my college education; without it, I may not have been able to attend college because I wasn’t in the position to afford a four-year institution and didn’t qualify for financial assistance.”

Jennifer Davis, laboratory coordinator, natural & agricultural sciences, says, “LLCC was the best decision for me because I was able to work part-time while taking classes toward my degree. I had the opportunity to work as the biology lab assistant which led to me being hired as the laboratory coordinator.”
