Convocation is tomorrow!

Jack Uldrich speaking on a stageConvocation for faculty and staff will be held tomorrow, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Union. This year’s event will feature Jack Uldrich, a leading futurist, author, and speaker whose work is based on the transformational principles of unlearning as a strategy to survive and thrive in an era of unparalleled change.

In addition, the day will include an address by President Charlotte Warren, department meetings in the afternoon and a social from 4-6 p.m. in the Hamilton Area. At the social, you can enjoy games, food, beverages and music from the band Myers, Brant & Paoni.

On the way to the social, you can help restock the LLCC Food Pantry for fall! A table for donations will be outside the office during the social. LLCC welcomes Matt Trueblood

Matt TruebloodLLCC Academic Innovation and eLearning (AIeL) welcomes Matt Trueblood to the team. Matt, an instructional designer, started on Aug. 1. He’s a community college alum who holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in education. Before LLCC, Matt was a content creator for the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (INCCRRA) and an elementary school teacher for the Champaign School District. Volunteers needed for Welcome Week tables

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during fall Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome tables in A. Lincoln Commons, Montgomery Hall, Logan Hall, Kreher and the Workforce Career Center, Aug. 19-23 during the first week of fall classes.

Help students get a great start to the semester by greeting them, answering their questions, providing directions and encouraging them to stop by the Welcome Week events hosted by LLCC Student Life! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes.

Condolences to Carrie Jacobs

We extend our sympathy to Carrie Jacobs, administrative assistant to the dean of health professions, on the passing of her mother, Betty Mabe, of Lexington, South Carolina. The family is suggesting that donations be made in honor of Mrs. Mabe through the Alzheimer’s Association. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

LLCC welcomes Randi Riemann, director of accessibility services

Randi RiemannLLCC Student Services welcomes Randi Riemann to the team. Randi began her role as the new director of accessibility services on July 1. She is a proud LLCC alum who holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and bachelor’s degree in agricultural education. Prior to LLCC, she was the principal and special education coordinator at Morrisonville junior/senior high school. Welcome back to LLCC Randi!
