LLCC’s current Facilities Master Plan is now available on the Employee Portal. The document is a critical review of the existing facilities for LLCC and includes a plan of potential projects that respond to the challenges facing the college as it functions in a dynamic environment. The plan works to address existing concerns while also planning for future needs.

Fall Data Byte Conversation Series Begins Next Week

Join the Data Governance Council (DGC) for the first Data Byte conversation of the fall semester. This month’s focus will be findings from the CARLI textbook survey. Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in Millennium 2203 at 11:10 a.m. for this conversation.

Programming note: The Data Byte conversation series is sponsored by LLCC’s Data Governance Council. The fall series will take place on the second Tuesday of each month. The remaining dates include:

  • October 8
  • November 12
  • December 10

All will be held in Millenium Center 2203 from 11:10 to 11:50 a.m. Feel free to bring your lunch. Or maybe you’ll be the lucky attendee who wins a Quiznos lunch!

Order in person at Bistro To Go

Bistro Verde chef special.Don’t miss out on this week’s Bistro To Go special: Chef Aaliyah Flynn’s General Tso’s Chicken. See the full fall menu at Bistro Verde.

For now, online ordering is down. Guests can place their order in person and either it take it with them or enjoy in the dining room space or al fresco. Wait time is approximately 10 minutes. Bistro Verde is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, through Oct. 3.

LLCC Tik Tok named 2024 Medallion finalist

2024 medallion Awards logoCongratulations to Sarah Frey, LLCC website and social media coordinator, and the entire PRM team for being named a finalist for the 2024 Medallion Award for Social Media Page from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in NCMPR’s seven districts. Gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced at the NCMPR district conference at the end of September.

Welcome to Mirranda Campbell!

Mirranda CampbellLLCC Recruitment and Admissions welcomes Mirranda Campbell to the team. Mirranda is a recruitment specialist whose first day was Aug. 26. She comes to us from Security Bank. Mirranda is a community college graduate who went on to get her bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. She will focus her recruitment efforts on health professions and workforce. In the community

Laura Anderson, professor of art, is part of the art exhibit “Pillsburied: Multiple Resurrections,” Sept. 6-28 at the Springfield Art Association. The show is the third in a series of exhibits created rom and about the ruins of the Pillsbury Mill factory in Springfield. The work includes depictions and interpretations of the abandoned factory, and sculptures and collages created from objects and materials found on site.

Autism Employee Resource Group

Autism touches the lives of many of our staff, and at times it can be a difficult thing to navigate. LLCC has an Autism Employee Resource Group to help employees connect, ask questions and share resources with each other! If you have children, family or are on the spectrum yourself and would like to be added to the Teams group, please contact Kim Alexander or Rachel Duff.

Vision Board Workshop Today

The Vision Board Workshop will be led by Amy Giles, owner of MindBody Fitness and certified Infinite Possibilities Instructor, who will walk you through the process of creating an effective vision board.

If you haven’t yet registered, no problem. We welcome all to attend.

Please note that materials such as the poster board, scissors, tape, glue, and some clip art and stickers will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring pictures, magazine clippings, or any other personal items that will provide inspiration and help create the vision board.
