Just-in-Time workgroup, additional meeting today
Faculty: If you missed the kick-off meeting for the Just in Time workgroup, you’re invited to one of the following informational meetings to learn more about the initiative and provide feedback to help steer the work. Get your Flu Shot today
Today is the second (and final) day of the health screenings. Employees can have lab work and get their flu shot. The screenings will take place in the Student Union in Menard Hall from 7 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. All benefit eligible employees who participate in the screening and complete the health risk assessment survey will receive a $50 Visa give card! Submit Veterans Day recognition form
The college will honor veterans at its 29th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony, sponsored by LLCC Student Life. The ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 in A. Lincoln Commons with a reception to follow. This event honors all veterans, including LLCC faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces, and it is open to the public.
We look forward to honoring those who have served our country. To be included in the printed program, please complete this Veterans Day Recognition Form no later than Nov. 1.

Congratulations to Nancy Brawner, who was promoted to course materials coordinator at the LLCC Bookstore.
LLCC Information Technology welcomes Alex Wray to the team. Alex started with LLCC back in April as a contractor and accepted a full-time position as a network administrator on Sept. 16. Alex is an LLCC alum, having graduated in 2022. Before coming back to LLCC, he worked in managed services at LRS. Welcome home Alex!
HVACR students conduct a full installation in Hillsboro
LLCC’s Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) students recently completed a full HVAC installation in a new building at Hillsboro Central Park. The students installed a high-efficiency heat pump and duct work to gain hands-on experience. The city of Hillsboro provided the necessary equipment and materials.
Honors Program Taking Donations to National Conference
LLCC Honors students are collecting donations for the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, as they prepare to head to the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference later this month.
They are taking donations of:
- Snack items
- Children’s clothing
- Art supplies
- Games
- Comfort and distraction items

All donations must be:
- New with tags attached
- In original packaging
- Non-toxic and latex-free
- Odor-free
They are unable to accept Nerf guns, swords, bows and arrows, knives or religious objects. Please do not gift wrap items and bring donations to the Honors Program Student Club (HPSC) office in Sangamon Hall, Room 2312 by end of day on Oct. 30.
Trutter Museum/Murray Gallery featuring works from permanent collection
LLCC is featuring select works from the college’s permanent collection through Nov. 1. The exhibit can be viewed in the Trutter Museum/Murray Gallery, located in Menard Hall, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The exhibit showcases a selection of two-dimensional works. These pieces, which have circulated through LLCC’s campus hallways and offices over the years, are either familiar, newly refreshed or ready to begin a new display rotation once construction in their usual locations is completed. This exhibit offers a brief spotlight for a few of these pieces before they resume their tour across the campus.
The mission of LLCC’s permanent collection is to offer the college and its community a public display of art throughout campus, aimed at broadening visual knowledge, increasing aesthetic awareness and celebrating creativity; to provide students with the opportunity to view, study and appreciate original works of art, focusing on various aspects such as media, technique, aesthetics and style; and to create an aesthetically pleasing environment that enhances both learning and work.
Over the years, the LLCC’s permanent collection has expanded to include artwork created by students and faculty, pieces purchased by the college and generous donations. The collection also now includes a substantial number of pieces from the Trutter family’s donation of art and artifacts.
