LLCC hosted Rep. Nikki Budzinski and representatives of Skills USA and the AED Workforce Development Foundation on Wednesday in the Diesel Technologies Lab. Skills USA and AED thanked the congresswoman for helping secure a Department of Labor grant to support and develop high school programs that promote skilled trades. While at LLCC, Rep. Budzinski was given a tour of the Diesel Technologies lab from Program Director Jeff Gardner.

Aviation Mechanics 101 this Thursday
This Thursday, July 11, from 5-7 p.m., LLCC will host Aviation Mechanics 101.
Attendees will learn about careers in the field and experience the daily work of aircraft mechanics including completing a sheet metal project, building a wiring harness, removing and replacing a piston engine cylinder and starting an aircraft engine.

Making Macarons and Sweets at History Cooks
Friday’s “History Cooks” presentation at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site features “Macarons and Sweets” by LLCC adjunct culinary instructor, Stephanie Warren.
The free cooking and baking demonstration begins at noon. Attendees will receive a souvenir recipe card so they can re-create the dish at home.
