Mid-Semester Break Begins Tomorrow

Spring BreakLincoln Land Community College is closed for mid-semester break Saturday, March 8 through Sunday, March 16. No classes will be held, and administrative offices at the Springfield campus and outlying locations in the LLCC district will be closed. Regular hours will resume Monday, March 17.

The LLCC Child Development Center will remain open for community childcare during regular hours. LLCC-Medical District will remain open regular hours. Scheduled events will be held as planned.

Lunch & Learn: Supporting Neurodiverse Students

Join us for a complimentary lunch and an interactive session on how we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for neurodiverse students. This event is open to students, faculty and staff who are interested in learning more about neurodiversity and ways to foster success for all learners. We need your voice to help provide insights on best practices, accommodations, and strategies to support all students in academic and campus life!

LEAGUE Surfboard Decorating Contest

2025 LLCC LEAGUE faculty and staff campaign. Tuesday, march 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Student Union. Complimentary food, entertainmetn, prizes, surfboard decorating contest. More surfboards will be available on March 18 in the LLCC Foundation office, after break, for those still interested in joining in the fun. Completed surfboards should be brought to the Student Union on March 25 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. where people can vote on their favorite one.

The LEAGUE Committee has been hard at work making plans for the kickoff luncheon. All faculty and staff are invited to catch the wave and join us for fabulous food, entertainment, games and prizes on March 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Skip the line at the LEAGUE Kickoff on Professional Development Day and complete your LEAGUE 2025 Donation Form now.

Learn Ways to Increase Your Energy for Good

Join us on Monday, March 24 from 2-3 p.m. in the Trutter Center as board certified health coach and lifestyle medicine expert Mike Thomas presents his talk titled, “6 Little-Known Culprits That Keep You Exhausted – The Fastest Way to Increase Energy for Good.” In this engaging and practical talk, participants will walk away with:

  • A strategy to overcome the mid-afternoon slump.
  • Four energizing foods that fuel your body (not just a quick sugar high!).
  • Simple, science-backed habits to improve sleep quality.
  • Actionable tips to boost energy naturally—without relying on caffeine or sugar.

Registration is encouraged. Participants can also visit the health and wellness Sharepoint page to add the event to their calendar.

Mike Thomas has been a registered pharmacist for 35 years and is a board certified health coach. With nearly 30 years of corporate experience, he now helps busy professionals regain their energy, reduce stress, and feel their best. He has been providing coaching services for seven years, focusing on long-term wellness through small, sustainable changes. After overcoming his own struggles with stress, weight gain, and low energy, Mike now shares practical, real-world strategies to help others do the same. LEAGUE Surfboard Decorating Contest

Surf’s up! Faculty and staff are catching a wave on their decorated cardboard surfboards in preparation for the LEAGUE Campaign Kickoff on Tuesday, March 25.

Pick up a cardboard surfboard today in the LLCC Foundation office, decorate it however you wish with your team members and bring it to the Student Union by 11 a.m. the day of the LEAGUE Kickoff. LLCC’s very own Jazz Band will be performing some Beach Boys inspired tunes, and a beach themed lunch buffet will be provided beginning at 11:30 a.m. Limber up in preparation for the limbo contest. Great prizes will be available. You will have the opportunity to make your donation to the LEAGUE Campaign which raises money for students and programs at LLCC. Complete your LEAGUE 2025 Donation Form now and help us reach the $1 million mark for the amount raised since the beginning of the LEAGUE Campaign!
