Dee Krueger, director, LLCC-Taylorville, was interviewed on the WTIM Morning Show.  She discussed the upcoming Construction and Welding Expo at LLCC-Taylorville, congratulated the spring 2019 students named to the President’s and Vice President’s lists and also reminded recent graduates of the employment readiness opportunities available through LLCC Career Services.

Lynn Whalen, executive director, public relations and marketing, and Kyla Kruse, assistant director, public relations, were interviewed July 3 by the Illinois Times about the July 16 Transportation and Industrial Expo. Lynn also did a WMAY Business Spotlight interview on the expo which aired July 5.

“Casting a Historic Vote: Suffrage in Illinois,” July 21

The LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning and the Illinois State Museum invite the public to “Casting a Historic Vote: Suffrage in Illinois” on Sunday, July 21 at 2 p.m. in the Thorne Deuel Auditorium at the Illinois State Museum, 502 S. Spring St. The presentation is part of the “Standing on Her Shoulders” speaker series being held in recognition of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage and is sponsored in part by Illinois Humanities.

Jeanne Schultz Angel will examine how the struggle for enfranchisement was strategized differently in local, state and federal elections and will explain the paths walked by female leaders in our state. She will show how the diverse group of activists fought against sexism and racism and for the right to vote.

SURS counselors coming to campus Aug. 28. Schedule your appointment today!

SURS counselors will be on campus this fall to conduct one-on-one counseling appointments with employees who are within four years of retirement eligibility and have not met with SURS in the past 12 months. Please refer to the attachment for instructions on how to enroll for a one-on-one appointment. Please remember appointments are on a first come, first serve basis and are very limited.

CAS testing center closed tomorrow

The Center for Academic Success testing center will be closed tomorrow, July 3, while testing staff attend professional development activities. Testing hours yet this week are:

  • Tuesday, July 2 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 3 – testing center closed
  • Thursday, July 4 – college closed in observance of Independence Day
