Facilities Services would like to thank Rich Teeter, Bill Harmon and the Precision Agriculture Students for their assistance with improvements to the Lake Macoupin Watershed.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, using precision drone operation, faculty and students expertly overseeded about eight acres of turf between the Child Development Center and the campus lake with native pollinator seed. This area was designated as a reduced mowing area this past spring. Reduced mowing areas save a tremendous amount of labor, fuel and maintenance costs and are very environmentally friendly. This particular area is directly uphill from Lake Macoupin and is an important part of the watershed that drains into the lake.
