New technology request process

LLCC Data Governance Council and Technology Advisory Group have developed a new technology request process. This process will ensure all technology requests are reviewed appropriately and implemented in a timely manner. This process is required for all new technology requests prior to submission for budget approval for the next fiscal year.  Given that the review time may vary depending on the project’s scope, we encourage you to initiate this process as soon as possible.

LLCC Foundation 2024-25 scholarship application opens today

Dollar sign. LLCC Foundation ScholarshipsThe application period for 2024-2025 LLCC Foundation scholarships begins today, Nov. 15. Students planning to attend LLCC beginning in fall 2024 are encouraged to apply at llccfoundation.org/scholarships. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 15, 2024.

LLCC Foundation scholarships are available for first-time and continuing students who will be enrolled full- or part-time at LLCC. Many of the scholarships are open to students in any program of study, with the average award being approximately $1,500 per academic year.

New scholarships include the Bill and Lorraine Carls Scholarship, Peggy Crawford Fernandes Nursing Scholarship, Marilyn M. Hall Scholarship, Heartland Bank Community Enhancement Scholarship, Neil and Diana Jordan Workforce Scholarship, LLCC Black Student Union Scholarship and Roland Machinery Scholarships.

Only one application form is needed to apply for all scholarships. Students submitting a complete application are considered for all available scholarships for which they are eligible.

Cheer on the Loggers Nov. 29 at Superfans home basketball games! The women’s game is at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. in Cass Gym against Jefferson College. There will be free popcorn and chances for fans to win prizes!

LLCC’s Student Radiographers Association is in the community

On Thursday, Nov. 9, 11 members of the LLCC Student Radiographers Association and Janelle Murphy, program director, radiography, volunteered at HSHS Mission Outreach.  Mission Outreach is an organization that accepts medical supply donations from all over the U.S. These donations are sorted at the center and then shipped overseas to various countries in need. The club members sorted, counted, weighed and boxed supplies to help expedite the process. They are current students of LLCC’s associate degree radiography program and demonstrated a strong commitment to bettering health care concerns across the world!

Beta Nu nursing honor students are in the community

On Saturday, Nov. 11, the Beta Nu nursing honor students volunteered at the Girls on the Run 5K in the first aid tent. This sunny morning had some chilly winds, but that did not deter participation! While waiting for the race to begin, Beta Nu students invited children in attendance to roll the dice and complete the corresponding yoga pose.

Honors Program hosting Holiday Drive

The LLCC Honors Program student club is hosting a Holiday Drive to support MERCY Communities, an organization in Springfield addressing the crisis of family homelessness.

Items in the highest need are baby diapers (sizes 4, 5 and 6), pull-ups, baby wipes and cleaning supplies. Other items in need include household paper products (tissues, toilet paper and paper towels).

Club members will be accepting donations in A. Lincoln Commons from Nov. 27-29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Additionally, boxes will be in Crystal Norris’s office (upper level Sangamon) and the Honors Lounge (upper level Menard).

Linc Con 3 Nov. 21

All are welcome at “Linc Con 3: The Fun Before the Feast” sponsored by the LLCC Games Club. The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 5:30-10 p.m. and will span four classrooms (Sangamon 2209, 2210, 2214 and 2216).

This will be a fun night of faculty-led games, including board games (like “Blokus” and “Trekking the National Parks”), role-playing games, miniatures and party games. Free snacks will be available for all participants, and door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.
