Sign up to help out at the Welcome Week table

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during fall Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome table in A. Lincoln Commons Aug. 23-26 during the first week of fall classes.

Help students get a great start to the semester by greeting them, answering their questions, providing directions and encouraging them to stop by the Welcome Week events hosted by LLCC Student Life! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes. Because social distancing may not be possible when providing assistance to students, we ask those fully vaccinated to consider volunteering as greeters.

To sign up, add your name to this fall Welcome Week sign-up sheet or contact Amy Flynn at amy.flynn@llcc.edu.

COVID-19 protocol updates/reminders

The college is now requiring vaccinated employees to provide documented proof of their vaccination status to LLCC Human Resources. This can be done by scanning in your vaccination card and sending the file electronically, or by making a copy and delivering to anyone in the Human Resources office. Please do this as soon as possible, so that it is not assumed you are unvaccinated and subject to mask wearing requirements while on campus.

As a reminder, the COVID-19 testing site is open at the Trutter Center on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Routine testing is a great way to ensure you are COVID free and not risking the infection of others.

We continue to strongly encourage all of our employees and students to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. With the prevalence of the Delta variant that is spreading across the country, the best defense against this is to be fully vaccinated. While vaccinations are widely available through the health department and many other locations, LLCC will be holding another vaccination clinic on Aug. 23 from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 4-6:30 p.m.

Fire alarm system testing begins Aug. 3

LLCC Facilities Services will be coordinating testing of fire alarm systems in all LLCC buildings beginning the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 3. While we strive to keep disruptions to a minimum, it is necessary to sound the horns and activate the strobes during testing. As always, your patience is greatly appreciated as we perform this vital service.
