The Summer Internship & Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon in A. Lincoln Commons. This event provides students with opportunities to explore summer internships and job opportunities.
Please encourage students to attend and take advantage of this networking opportunity. Below is a list of registered organizations:

LLCC students have an opportunity to win a $500 scholarship by participating in the Paul Simon Essay Contest. Please encourage students to enter by writing a 500-word essay on the topic “How My Community College Changed My Life.”
Deadline: 3 p.m., Friday, March 21
Entries will be judged on style, clarity and relevance with special emphasis on grammar and punctuation. Submissions must include the student’s name, address, phone number and email address. Students are encouraged to schedule appointments in the LLCC Writing Center to review essays before submission. Submissions must be emailed to the Writing Center by the deadline, writing.center@llcc.edu.

This week’s You Know? message reminds students the Center for Academic Success and Writing Center are great resources for academic success.
The LLCC Office of Student Success will be hosting the State University Transfer Day (SUTD) on Monday, Feb. 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Private Illinois Colleges and Universities (PICU) Transfer Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Both events will be held in A. Lincoln Commons and are for current students looking to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor’s degree. Please encourage your students in transfer majors to attend these events.
SUTD attendees include: Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, University of Illinois – Chicago, University of Illinois – Springfield, University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign and Western Illinois University.
PICU attendees include: Bradley University, Columbia College – Chicago, DePaul University, Dominican University, Greenville University, Illinois College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Loyola University – Chicago, McKendree University, Methodist College, Millikin University, Monmouth College, National Louis University, North Park University, Olivet Nazarene University, Quincy University, St. Francis Medical Center – Nursing and St. John’s College of Nursing.

Today is the last day to register for the upcoming training and development opportunity with David Ziebler. Project Management Essentials takes place Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the Robert H. Stephens Room. Attendees will gain a foundational knowledge of project management.
