Child Development Center
The LLCC Child Development Center is aware of the recent closing announcement of Building Blocks Preschool in Springfield. If you, as an employee, or an LLCC student will have their childcare impacted, please reach out to the LLCC Child Development Center. While the LLCC facility only has a limited number of spaces available, depending on the child’s age, the center staff will assist LLCC affiliated employees and students in locating childcare.
Career Development Month – My Story boards
November is National Career Development Month, and the Career Center invites your participation in sharing career insights with our students. We’re excited to bring back the “My Story Boards,” which faculty and staff can fill out and display in their offices or outside their doors. Sharing your educational and career journeys can be both inspirational and informative for students, especially when integrated into classroom discussions.
The Career Center is delivering My Story Boards to Administrative Assistant Offices. If you did not receive a My Story Board and would like one, please email CareerCenter@LLCC.edu, and we’ll be happy to bring one to your office.
Journaling and Mindfulness Today
A reminder that the one hour Journaling and Mindfulness session will be held today beginning at noon in Menard Hall, Room 1179. Journals and ink pens are available if needed. We hope to see you there!
AIeL Open Office Hours this Friday
The staff of Academic Innovation and eLearning have cleared their calendars and are available for you during their fall 2024 open office hours, this Friday, Nov. 1, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Visit them on the garden level of Sangamon Hall (Room 0114) for snacks and good conversation, or join us on Teams. They’re ready to talk about all things teaching, pedagogy, Canvas, H5P, digital accessibility and more. All faculty and staff are welcome to visit during their open office hours, regardless of department or teaching modality. If you can’t make it in-person to open office hours, please know that the doors are always open, or you can contact any individual staff member to schedule an in-person or virtual appointment.
