Oh Deer!

LLCC offering free Media Makers Camp

Woman creating animation on a computerLLCC will host a Media Makers Camp for high school and recently graduated students who are interested in an inside-look at the field of integrated media design. The free camp will run July 22-25 at the LLCC-Medical District, 130 W. Mason St., Springfield. Morning (9 a.m.-noon) and afternoon (1-4 p.m.) sessions of the camp will be offered.

Over the course of four days, participants will get to explore the areas of 2D and 3D animation as well as video game design. The sessions will be led by Matthew Shaver, LLCC professor of integrated media design.

In the community

The LLCC Respiratory Care, Neurodiagnostic Technology and Radiography programs participated in the HSHS Careers Boot Camp on June 26. Area high school students participated in a one-day boot camp to help them explore careers in health care. The participants shadowed different areas of St. John’s Hospital, and various colleges and universities provided information at their vendor booths.

LLCC representatives from respiratory care, neurodiagnostic technology and radiography participate in the HSHS Careers Boot Camp.

Congratulations to the following LLCC employees taking on new roles at the college.

Cheri Reardon takes on the role of director, campus services. Cheri was previously the LLCC bookstore operations manager.

Sean Edmondson takes over as the bookstore operations manager.

Tiffany Luxner has been promoted to database/financial analyst.
