Active learning principles seek innovative ways to engage students, helping them to become responsible, self-motivated, self-managed, interdependent, self-aware lifelong learners who have a strong belief in themselves to become empowered partners in their own education and growth.

Mary Beth Ray, director of advising, counseling and career services, was interviewed July 28 by the State Journal-Register for  this article for on the outlook for health care careers in the Springfield area.

Welcome Week Volunteers Needed

The Public Relations and Marketing office is looking for volunteers to assist at the “welcome table” in A. Lincoln Commons during the first week of fall classes. Help students get a great start to the semester by providing directions, handing out student planners and answering a multitude of questions.

Grades due Monday

A reminder that all grades for Summer and Mod 6 courses are due Monday, August 1, by noon.  Grades should be submitted online via WebAdvisor.  Please contact Susan Mendenhall with any questions at 786-2424.

NOTICE REGARDING END OF THE MONTH DEPOSITS

The deadline to submit your deposits to the Finance Department is TODAY, Wednesday, July 27 at NOON. As a reminder, if you’ve taken in funds, it is necessary to submit them and corresponding deposit slips to the Finance Department on a daily basis. Please hand the deposit to Elyse Calhoun, Libby Elder or Robin Ackman as monies should not be left unattended. If you have questions, please contact Elyse at ext. 62204 or Robin at ext. 62762.
