PRM highlighting “Inspirational Professors”

As the last phase of the college’s Go Near Go Far campaign, we are focusing on LLCC’s outstanding faculty. As we talked to students and staff, we gathered words used to describe LLCC professors, including “inspiring,” “motivational,” “experienced,” “sincere,” “passionate.” The Enrollment Management Team looked at data and chose four programs to highlight and as a result, four professors were approached and agreed to be featured. A sincere thank you to Carmen Allen, Randy Rue, Thom Whalen and Dr. Paul Hudson for their time and effort in participating in these short videos.

LLCC Environmental Health and Safety Team NEEDS YOUR HELP!

The purpose of the Environmental Health and Safety Team is to promote safety practices at LLCC. To help guide our efforts in this area we have developed a short Safety Perception Survey that we are asking all LLCC employees to complete. Your answers will provide valuable information regarding our employees’ basic perceptions of safety on campus, as well as specific information on strengths, and/or areas that may need renewed focus.

The survey will be open through MAY 13.

SAVE Task Force attends Take Back the Night event.

A group of LLCC students, staff, and faculty recently attended Take Back the Night at UIS as part of a partnership that LLCC’s Sexual Assault and Violence Education (SAVE) Taskforce formed with the UIS Women’s Center for the event. Take Back the Night is an event that includes a march and rally to acknowledge worldwide violence against women, challenge the normalization of such violence, and demand a change in the aspects of each society and culture around the world that perpetuate gender-based violence. If you are interested in learning more about SAVE, please contact Leslie Johnson (leslie.johnson@llcc.edu) or Shelby Bedford (Shelby.bedford@llcc.edu).
