Bistro Verde, LLCC’s student-led café, is open today, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a full-service dining experience. For the spring 2022 semester, it will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., through April 14 (except March 8, 10 and 29). You are invited to experience food prepared and served by LLCC culinary arts, baking and pastry, and hospitality students. View the menu.

Bistro Verde is located in the Workforce Careers Center on the southwest corner of the Springfield campus. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and can be made by emailing bistroverde@llcc.edu. Reservation confirmations will be made via email. Lunch orders for carry out may be placed online through March 3. When Bistro Verde opens again after spring break, culinary and hospitality students will continue their focus on customer service with in-person dining only.

The Journal-News covered the Feb. 1 regional planning meeting co-hosted by McKay/NAPA Autoparts and the Litchfield School District. The meeting was held to discuss growing a sustainable pipeline of auto technicians. Welcome Joshua Dineen

Joshua DineenJoshua Dineen, chef specialist, wrote today’s Epicuriosity 101 column in the State Journal-Register, “Comfort food and nostalgic thoughts.”

Joshua began Jan. 3 as a chef specialist for LLCC. He received training from the Culinary Institute of America and has been cooking for 25 years. He has experience managing corporate restaurants locally and working in fine dining restaurants in New York and Los Angeles. Joshua can be reached at joshua.dineen@llcc.edu or 217-786-3430.
