AIeL has planned robust faculty-focused programming on topics such as academic tools; AI in education; innovation and creativity; student connections; and teaching, scholarship and research. Phi Theta Kappa Fall Induction Ceremony
Congratulations to LLCC’s Phi Theta Kappa inductees. The Alpha Epsilon Kappa chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society held its fall induction ceremony on Oct. 23 in the Trutter Center. The keynote speaker was Isaac Barrett, former chapter president. Barrett and another former chapter president, Joey Gallo formally installed the new chapter officers.
The event formally recognizes new members and officers and is conducted in part by the student leaders of the chapter.

Submit Veterans Day recognition form
The college will honor veterans at its 29th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony, sponsored by LLCC Student Life. The ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 in A. Lincoln Commons with a reception to follow. This event honors all veterans, including LLCC faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces, and it is open to the public.
We look forward to honoring those who have served our country. To be included in the printed program, please complete this Veterans Day Recognition Form no later than Nov. 1.

Impact Life Blood Drive at LLCC
Donate blood at LLCC on Tues., Nov. 12 between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons. Help us meet our goal of at 20 donors during the last campus drive of 2024! By donating a small portion of your time and a unit of blood, you have the power to be a lifeline for someone in need. Appointments are requested and you can sign up online. Journaling and Mindfulness Rescheduled
The second Journaling and Mindfulness session has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31 from noon until 1 p.m. in Menard Hall, Room 1179. Join this hour-long session for some relaxation and reflection.

Early Alert workgroup survey
The Early Alert workgroup is investigating how we can use an early alert system to improve student retention. LLCC’s current Early Alert system is used by some faculty members to report grades at specific times throughout the semester, but it does not have widespread use. Since every LLCC employee interacts with students in some capacity, we would like to hear your ideas on how we can support students through an early alert intervention. Please think about any conversations you’ve had or overheard with students where they have described a gap in service or a barrier they have experienced. We want to gather input from the LLCC community and encourage you to complete a brief survey by Nov. 1.
Thanksgiving Meals for Students and a Parade of Food!
Throughout the year the LLCC Food Pantry supports students experiencing food insecurity. As we enter a season of many holiday celebrations and traditions, often centered around food, the need becomes even more apparent. The 4th annual “Operation Full Belly” aims to provide students who elect to participate with many of the ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal.
Donations help to make Operation Fully Belly a success, and there is a signup sheet for the donations needed this year.

Although food donations will be accepted in the Student Office leading up to the break, we would love a crowd for the “Parade of Food” on Monday, Nov. 4 in A. Lincoln Commons. Gather around the perimeter with your donations around 9:45 a.m. that morning. Children from the Child Development Center will bring their wagons around to collect and deliver food to the Student Life Office!

LLCC to host Agronomy Journey Conference in January
LLCC will host an Agronomy Journey Conference, January 23 and 24, 2025 at Kreher Agriculture Center. The two-part conference includes two days of classroom training and two days of field training this summer. Learn more about the conference online.
