Winter recess Dec. 15-Jan. 1

Happy Holidays! Lincoln Land Community College. LLCC will be closed for holiday break Dec. 15-Jan. 1. Spring semester begins Jan. 12.LLCC will be closed for winter recess Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019. No classes will be held, and administrative offices at the Springfield campus and Outreach Centers in the LLCC district will be closed. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The LLCC Capital City Training Center, 130 W. Mason, will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, and open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 17-21, 24, 26-28 and 31. The Illinois Small Business Development Center at LLCC, located in Montgomery Hall on the Springfield campus, will be closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, and open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Dec. 17-21 and Dec. 26-28.

Nominations for honored alumni award due tomorrow

As a reminder, the deadline for submitting nominations for the 2019 Honored Alumni Award is tomorrow, Dec. 15, 2018. Nominate an LLCC alum for the award by completing the form that is available at www.llcc.edu/honored-alumni-award.

Nominations will be scored on the following four criteria: 1) role model – inspiring excellence in others, 2) outstanding success – attaining significant career or personal achievements, 3) impact – achieving accomplishments which have changed the community for the better and 4) community service – demonstrating a visible commitment to the community through leadership and/or volunteerism.

Additionally, nominees must have successfully completed coursework at LLCC and be able to attend LLCC’s commencement ceremony on May 17, 2019.

In addition, the LLCC Computer Science Academy and Dance Club: Express Your Seoul are “Teaming up for Taylorville” by co-sponsoring a jeans day today to help raise funds for Taylorville tornado recovery efforts. If participating, please bring a $5 minimum donation to LLCC Student Life.

These two clubs will also be collecting items needed for recovery efforts in Taylorville today from 1-3 p.m. in the student union. You can drop items off on your way to the holiday party! View items being requested (new preferred).

End-of-month deposits due today before noon

The deadline to submit deposits to the LLCC Finance Department is today, Dec. 13, before noon. Please hand the deposit to Nichole Coffey or Robin Ackman as monies should not be left unattended.

As a reminder, if you have taken in funds, it is necessary to submit them and corresponding deposit slips to the finance department on a daily basis.

Taylorville City Hall has stressed that they do not need any clothes. The Taylorville Food Pantry is full; however, they will still take non-perishable food items and place them in storage.
