Sign up to help at the Welcome Week tables

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during spring Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome tables in A. Lincoln Commons, Montgomery Hall, Logan Hall, Kreher and the Workforce Career Center, Jan. 13-17 during the first week of spring classes.

Help students get a great start to the semester by greeting them, answering their questions, providing directions and encouraging them to stop by the Welcome Week events hosted by LLCC Student Life! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes.

To sign up, add your name to this Welcome Week sign-up sheet or email Russell Michelich.

Theme days during last week before winter recess

In the last week before winter recess, join in the holiday spirit with themed attire days. These themes are optional. LLCC nametags should be worn, and jeans can also be worn on all of these days. If not participating in the daily theme, an LLCC shirt is required if wearing jeans.

  • Monday – Dress like an elf
  • Tuesday – Dress in holiday colors
  • Wednesday – Dress like your favorite holiday character
  • Thursday – Wear an ugly holiday sweater
  • Friday – Jeans day (shirt not required to indicate LLCC)

The college will be closed for winter recess Dec. 21-Jan. 5, and we’ll be back to professional attire when offices open again on Jan. 6.

Non-Traditional Course Delivery Workgroup January Meetings

The Non-Traditional Course Delivery workgroup (focusing on competency-based education, credit for prior learning/prior learning assessment, and blending non-credit/credit) has planned two reconvening meetings in January.

We plan to share the group’s progress, discuss our current/short-term activities, gather feedback from you on items such as the Credit for Prior Learning rollout plan (among others), and generate an action plan and goals for spring 2025 (and beyond).

The meetings are as follows:

  • Monday, Jan. 13, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Robert H. Stephens Room
  • Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Robert H. Stephens Room

Whether you are a returning member or just interested in hearing what we’ve been doing, we invite you to join us for one or both meetings. If you have any questions or concerns in the interim, please contact either of the group co-chairs: Laurel Bretz and Corrine Hinton.
