LLCC Nursing welcomes Jennifer Zellers to the team as a nursing instructor. Jennifer is an alumni of LLCC’s ADN program. She has dedicated 20 years of her life to the nursing profession, in the OR, clinic and most recently as a school nurse. LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during spring Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome tables in A. Lincoln Commons, Montgomery Hall, Logan Hall, Kreher and the Workforce Career Center, Jan. 13-17 during the first week of spring classes.
Help students get a great start to the semester by greeting them, answering their questions, providing directions and encouraging them to stop by the Welcome Week events hosted by LLCC Student Life! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes.
Distribution of new employee name tags has begun! PRM is contacting departments for pickup/delivery. These new name tags are printed in color, focus on name and title, and through consistent use, will help to enhance brand recognition.
The Non-Traditional Course Delivery workgroup (focusing on competency-based education, credit for prior learning/prior learning assessment, and blending non-credit/credit) has planned two reconvening meetings in January.
We plan to share the group’s progress, discuss our current/short-term activities, gather feedback from you on items such as the Credit for Prior Learning rollout plan (among others), and generate an action plan and goals for spring 2025 (and beyond).
The meetings are as follows:
Monday, Jan. 13, 3:30-5 p.m. in the Robert H. Stephens Room
Wednesday, Jan. 22, 3:30-5 p.m. in the Robert H. Stephens Room
Whether you are a returning member or just interested in hearing what we’ve been doing, we invite you to join us for one or both meetings. If you have any questions or concerns in the interim, please contact either of the group co-chairs: Laurel Bretz and Corrine Hinton.
LLCC Student Life and the Logger Activities Board have a full two weeks of welcome events scheduled and would like assistance spreading the word to students. Stop by to check them out too!
