Paving contractors to start work May 15

Starting on May 15, paving contractors will be working on main campus in a few areas throughout the summer.

  • Removal of existing fence, adding new curbs and repaving Lots 3 and 4
  • Miscellaneous crack and joint filing throughout most parking lots
  • Sealing the entirety of Lots 14, 17, 18 and drive/parking area south of Cass Gym
  • Replacing existing regulatory signs (stop, yield, turn, parking, etc.) and additional main drive and parking lot painting
  • Removal and replacement of the drive and creation of additional parking on the east drive of Menard Hall.  This is scheduled to take the loading dock drive out of service for the entire month of June.

Commencement 2023 instructions for faculty and administrators

On Friday, May 12, 2023, the LLCC Commencement ceremony will be held at the Bank of Springfield Center, 1 Convention Center Plaza, and will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the processional. Faculty and administrators are asked to please arrive no later than 7 p.m. to assemble in line at the South Ramp. The final line of march will be posted in LincIn tomorrow, May 11.

Summer tuition waivers for faculty/staff and dependents due May 15

As a reminder for all faculty/staff who plan on using the employee tuition waiver for themselves or their qualified dependents for summer 2023: Please complete and submit your tuition waiver  no later than Monday, May 15 to ensure the waiver will be noted on your account by the May 17 deadline.

If you anticipate registering on or after Monday, May 15, please submit your tuition waiver the day before your registration so your account can be notated in time to meet the same day deadline.

Updated versions of the college letterhead are available. The LLCC Printshop has hard copies of the main letterhead available for pickup. Updated digital MS Word versions of letterhead are available on the LLCC Employee Portal  > PRM Sharepoint page in the Letterhead section. To use, please download to desktop and then open in Word, or right–click on the more options icon (the three dots to the right of the file name) and open with Word.

LLCC Air, Flight 0512 to Bank of Springfield Center is scheduled to depart on Friday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. This is a nonstop roundtrip reservation.

Boarding will begin at 7 p.m. at the south side ramp of the BOS, beginning with our Premiere Platform Party Members. Following that, we will board faculty and administrators who have seat assignments in Rows A and B. Your flight attendants will be Amy Williams and Lynn Gerton, and they will assist you with regalia and seat assignments. Your captains for the evening will be Carmen Allen and Jennifer Ramm, and they hope to give you a safe and smooth ride to commencement.

Community college law requires each person on board to wear proper fitting regalia at all times until your captains turn on the “no regalia” sign.

Seat assignments

Your seats have been selected and will be confirmed on your itinerary. Starting 24 hours before departure, you can check online to print your boarding pass or go paperless and use your LLCC mobile app. LLCC Air prides itself on “on-time” arrivals. Please arrive 30 minutes or more before departure. This flight is sold out. Upgrades are not available at this time. Your arrival on time to expedite take-off will be appreciated. Carry-on bags are free but must be placed under the seat in front of you.

As is our usual procedure, we will be boarding in two lines. Please check your boarding pass to see if you are in the correct line. We ask that you pay close attention to see that two equal lines are created so as to not create an uneven weight on one side of the plane. Again, your flight attendants will assist you with this.

No show policy

Failure to check in for your flight will result in reassignment of your seat to the last row. If you are not planning to travel on any portion of this itinerary, please cancel your reservation at least 48 hours prior to scheduled departure of the flight. Customers who fail to cancel or change their flight at least 48 hours prior to travel and who do not board the flight, will be considered a no show, and the reservation will be forfeited.

Employee Recognition Week

The celebration will culminate with the 29th Annual Employee Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, May 10, at 3 p.m. in the Student Union. The event recognizes service anniversaries, retirees and distinguished service awardees. Mark your calendars, and come celebrate your colleagues!

A reminder of end-of-fiscal-year spending deadlines

As we are rapidly approaching the end of another fiscal year, below is a reminder to help facilitate end-of-year spending. Please note the following dates:

Last date for all major purchases: April 7, 2023

Purchases for office furniture, equipment, materials or supplies that have longer lead times should be placed in order to ensure timely delivery of order. Please be aware in case of longer lead times or backorders, you may not receive your order by the June 30 deadline. In this case, you may have to pay out of FY24 funds.

An online requisition must be done and approved by corresponding budget manager(s), with correct account number(s), and forwarded to LLCC Purchasing.

Last date purchase orders will be issued: May 18, 2023

This will be the last day a purchase order will be used to order anything.

An online requisition must be completed prior to this date which includes approval by corresponding budget manager(s), with correct account number(s) and forwarded to LLCC Purchasing by the above date.

That also means your budget transfer(s) should have already been submitted to LLCC Budgeting, should there be a need to do that.

Last date to order items on a blanket purchase order: May 18, 2023

This includes Office Depot/Staples blankets.

Last date to process payments on a blanket purchase order: June 8, 2023

All supporting documentation, invoices and blanket purchase order payment requests must be approved by corresponding budget manager(s) and submitted to LLCC Accounts Payable by 5 p.m. on June 8.

Only emergency purchases will be allowed after the above dates.

As such, they must have the appropriate approvals.

Purchases will require written approval from your appropriate cabinet member prior to the purchase.

Due to audit cut off dates, unless such purchases are received on campus by June 30 the purchase will be charged to your FY 24 budget.

Grant purchases: above dates apply to grants ending June 30, 2023

For those grants that do not end on June 30, 2023, please work closely with Sarah Goodman and Jeremy Bliss in the LLCC Purchasing office to facilitate your purchases.
