Nominate a worthy student for Homecoming Court. Nomination forms are available in the Student Life Office or print the nomination form Homecoming Nomination Form 2015 and return to Student Life by Monday, Jan. 26.

Homecoming 2015 is being held Saturday, Feb. 14. This year’s theme is Peace, Love & LLCC! The Loggers basketball teams will take on the Lincoln Lynx, with the women’s playing at 2 p.m. and the men playing at 4 p.m. in Cass Gymnasium. The Homecoming Dance is scheduled from 8-11 p.m. in the Student Union, Menard Hall. Attendees are encouraged to wear 70s attire. Homecoming activities kick off Jan. 26, so join in the fun!

 

Academic Assessment Team minutes posted

Minutes have been posted from the November Academic Assessment Team meeting, at which status reports were given regarding revisions to the Communication and Global & Cultural Awareness rubrics. The team voted to move the administration of the next CAAP to spring 2016, and department assessment coordinators have been working on a new program assessment structure. Beat Cabinet Biggest Loser Challenge

Last week, information was posted in LincIn regarding the LLCC Biggest Loser Contest that starts on Jan. 30.  Please click LLCC Biggest Loser Contest for more information. Several members of Cabinet are forming a team and are issuing a Beat Cabinet Biggest Loser Challenge.  In this challenge, Cabinet will donate $1 to the LLCC Foundation Pay It Forward fund for every pound that the Biggest Loser participants lose collectively.  In addition, for each Biggest Loser team that beats the Cabinet team at the final weigh-in, Cabinet will donate an additional $50 per team.  So, get your team together and let’s lose weight and raise some money for the LLCC Foundation in the process!  Please contact Kim Elder at 6-2214 or kim.elder@llcc.edu by Jan. 28 to register your team.

Nancy Sweet, culinary operations manager, was interviewed Jan. 15 for an upcoming story on Bistro Verde in the SJ-R. The Bistro opens Jan. 29 for sit-down lunch service on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Reservations are required by emailing bistroverde@llcc.edu or calling 786-2821.

Also, this story about the LLCC Bookstore’s collaboration with the LLCC Foundation, in which students donated nearly $800 in book buyback proceeds, appeared in Foreword Online, an e-newsletter for collegiate retailers.
