Campaign through United Way underway; donors get swag bags and chances for gift baskets!
The annual LLCC campaign through United Way begins TODAY and continues through Nov. 6. Please see the letter in your campus mailbox and consider a payroll deduction or cash/check/credit card gift to help those in need in our community.
Your support is needed now more than ever, as the state budget impasse is affecting many individuals served by social service agencies, like Antonio Ramirez, 94, a U.S. Army veteran who relies on meals from Senior Services of Central Illinois, a United Way agency.
Your undesignated gift funds programs in Central Illinois addressing the greatest need. Or, you may designate your gift to one or more qualified 501(c)3 agencies in any location.
All donors get a swag bag of three gifts (courtesy of LLCC Student United Way) and chances to win a gift basket! Make your gift today!
Professional Development Day Nov. 3 goes mobile
A reminder that Professional Development Day is being held Tuesday, Nov. 3. Make plans to attend! Information about the day can be found online at www.llcc.edu/ProDevDay.
Professional Development Day is a great opportunity to share ideas, learn something new or expand upon skills and talents you already have. It also provides excellent opportunities to interact with colleagues from other departments across campus. There is something for everyone with many activities and breakout sessions planned throughout the day,
Please note that everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend any session on the schedule. While a session may appear to be directed toward a particular employee group it does not mean that others wouldn’t benefit from the presentation and discussion. If you see something that piques your interest, attend that session! Simply learning more about how different areas of the college function can help each of us serve our students more effectively.
In addition to the activities and breakout sessions being offered, we are adding something new this year. Professional Development Day is also going mobile with a supplemental app and hashtag, #prodevday, to encourage a greater connection and sharing of ideas before and during Professional Development Day. Visit the ProDevDay App link on the web page linked above to learn more and to download the app. There have been updates to the day’s schedule. For the latest updates, check the website or download the app.
If you are on Twitter, please feel free to tweet throughout the day and tag your tweets with #prodevday. Those tweets will appear in the twitter window on the ProDevDay web page and on the Twitter feed in the ProDevDay app.
