8th Annual LLCC Gala Raises Funds for LLCC Students
Lincoln Land Community College Foundation’s 8th Annual Gala was held at the college on Saturday, May 3. Approximately 270 people attended this elegant evening featuring a gourmet dinner prepared by our culinary students and instructors. Guests were treated to entertainment provided by LLCC’s Concert Choir, the Stolen Moments Jazz Band and LLCC’s Big Band. The Gala is the Foundation’s single largest fundraiser for unrestricted student support. Preliminary estimates are that $67,000 in net revenue was raised in support of student learning at LLCC. Our sincerest thanks to all our sponsors, donors, friends, staff, faculty and volunteers who help make this event a success.

Today is the last day to make your payroll deduction pledge to the LEAGUE campaign and be entered into the drawing for $150. We have now surpassed last year’s total of $52,000 in donations.

Major purchases for equipment, material, or supplies should be placed.
An on-line requisition must be done, approved by corresponding Budget Manager(s), with correct account number(s), and forwarded to the Purchasing Department.

Funds from this campaign go directly to support LLCC students through scholarships, grants and more. As a donor, you choose where the money goes. The LLCC Foundation realizes you have choices in what charities you choose to support and given the ever increasing demands on individual and family budgets, please know how grateful we are that you’ve chosen the students of LLCC.

LLCC Honors Club off to great start with “Be A Hero Campaign” press conference
Lincoln Land Community College is 1 of 21 colleges participating in the Secretary of State’s “Be A Hero Campaign” to promote organ/tissue donor awareness and to increase registration in Illinois. A press conference was held Tuesday, April 8 to promote the efforts of the LLCC Honors Club in promoting this effort. To view photos from the event, click HERE. LEAGUE Winners Announced
Penny Wars: Congratulations to the 2014 LEAGUE Penny Wars Champions, LLCC-Jacksonville. A total of $423.29 was raised for the LLCC Foundation’s Pay It Forward Fund which helps students who need emergency assistance. The results for each department who participated are attached here.
Raffle Winners: Congratulations also goes to the winner of the Kindle Fire HD and $25 Amazon gift card – Mark Roehrs, Professor of History in the Social Sciences department. The winner of the 50/50 cash drawing is Gary Armour, Laboratory Safety Coordinator, with the Mathematics and Sciences department. He won $145.75.
There is still time to make your pledge to this year’s LEAGUE campaign. Stop by the Foundation office to complete your form and receive your thank you gifts! So far staff and faculty have donated $46,274 to the campaign.

Stop by the LLCC Foundation before 5 pm on Tuesday! And, while you’re there, cast off your final bits of change in the Penny Wars! All 13 of the decorated Penny Wars containers are on display and ready for your donation. All proceeds from this fun and “friendly” department challenge will support the Pay It Forward Fund to help students with emergency needs.
