LEAGUE prize winners

LLCC Foundation Fabulous LEAGUE Campaign 2019Congratulations to Holly Gietl the winner of $205 from the LEAGUE 50/50 drawing and to Joe Hoff who won the first $150 LEAGUE cash prize which was donated by members of the LLCC Cabinet.

Thanks to all who purchased tickets in support of the LEAGUE campaign which benefits our programs and students like Aaliyah Kissick, who spoke at the LEAGUE luncheon about the impact that faculty and staff at LLCC have had on her.

If you would like to make a donation to the LEAGUE campaign to help students like Aaliyah, please complete the 2019 enrollment form and return to the LLCC Foundation office. Make your donation by April 30, and you will be eligible to win an additional $150 in cash!

LEAGUE grant dollars at work!

As announced at the LEAGUE Kickoff on Tuesday, nearly $10,000 was awarded for LEAGUE grants for the following:

  • Community Education/Youth Enrichment Services – to purchase equipment and curriculum for the STEM program, “Ready, Set, Drone! at LLCC”
  • EMS Program – infant airway management trainer
  • Health Professions – provide students with hands-on experience with the mass disaster training simulation;
  • Adult Education – 100 GED Ready Practice vouchers and GED test vouchers
  • Financial Aid – two iPads, screen protectors and cases for the FAFSA mobile application
  • LLCC-Jacksonville/CAS – laptop for virtual interpreter services
  • Math and Sciences – to furnish the anatomy & physiology room with new models
  • Nursing – updated iPads for the nursing simulation lab

These grants are made possible by donations to the LEAGUE Campaign. It’s not too late to contribute. Please complete the 2019 enrollment form and return to the Foundation office. If you make a contribution by the end of the day on Friday, March 29, you will be entered into the drawing for the first $150 cash prize, donated by members of the LLCC Cabinet. Purchase 50/50 drawing tickets by 5 p.m. on Friday as well in the Foundation.

  • Delicious Las Vegas Themed Buffet featuring a complimentary horseshoe bar with Texas toast, hamburgers, chicken, waffle fries and cheese sauce and Caesar Palace Salad.
  • Engaging entertainment featuring Vegas headliners and performances by Lincoln Land Community College’s very own.
  • Participate in fun games such as Stack Attack, house of cards and an Elvis relay race!
  • Give back by making your donation to the LEAGUE campaign to benefit scholarships, students and educational programs at LLCC.
  • Be entered to win fabulous prizes, including $150 (donated by Cabinet members) if you make a pledge to the LEAGUE Campaign using payroll deduction. Other prizes include gift baskets, gift cards and more!

LLCC Foundation Fabulous LEAGUE Campaign 2019All faculty and staff are invited to join the LEAGUE Committee for the Fabulous LEAGUE Campaign Kickoff on Tuesday, March 26, in the Student Union beginning at 11:45 a.m. But first, join us for the LEAGUE Poker Run starting today! Visit each of the five participating locations (or email the contact person if located off-site) to draw a playing card. The person with the best poker hand wins and will receive a prize. Don’t forget to bring some cash when you stop by the LLCC Foundation office so you can purchase your 50/50 tickets ($1 each or six for $5).

LEAGUE Committee seeks performers for kickoff

LLCC Foundation Fabulous LEAGUE Campaign 2019Calling all acts! Do you have a special talent such as singing, juggling or performing magic acts? Are you an Elvis impersonator in your free time? The theme of this year’s annual faculty and staff giving campaign, known as LEAGUE, is based on Las Vegas. The LEAGUE Committee is seeking “acts” to perform short (five-minutes or less) performances during the Las Vegas themed kickoff luncheon on Tuesday, March 26. In order to be considered, performers will be invited to attend a brief “audition” prior to the kickoff. Those interested should contact Barb Eades in the LLCC Foundation at 786-2255 or by email at Barbara.Eades@llcc.edu.

LEAGUE grant applications are due in the LLCC Foundation, located on the first floor in Menard Hall, today, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. Approximately $10,000 from the faculty and staff giving campaign known as LEAGUE is available for projects and programs at LLCC.

Access grant guidelines and the application and budget worksheet. They may also be obtained on the Foundation website. LEAGUE grant applications are reviewed by a committee and the award recipients will be announced at the LEAGUE kickoff luncheon on March 26.

In order to be considered, you must submit your funding request by today at 5 p.m.  For questions, call the LLCC Foundation at 786-2785.

Thanks to generous faculty and staff who donated to the LEAGUE campaign. Projects that were awarded funding last year include:

  • Adult airway trainer for the emergency medical services program.
  • New easels for the art department to replace the 40-year-old ones.
  • Child size simulation model for respiratory care.

The manikin allows students to practice with the correct size equipment used on a 5-year-old patient.
