They can learn more about LLCC Foundation scholarships and FAFSA completion, start applications and ask questions about  the completion of current scholarship or FAFSA applications. Resources available will include: LLCC Foundation scholarship information and reference, personal essay and FAQ resources as well as FAFSA tips and guidance.

LLCC to host Financial Aid Workshops in October

LLCC is offering workshops and completion events in October to assist students and families in filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to obtain financial aid to attend college. The FAFSA filing period is now open, and students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Financial Aid Workshops will be held at these LLCC locations and high schools:

  • Oct. 5, LLCC-Beardstown, 3-6 p.m.
  • Oct. 7, Southeast High School, 6-8 p.m.
  • Oct. 13, LLCC-Litchfield, 4-8 p.m.
  • Oct. 14, Lanphier High School, 6-8 p.m.
  • Oct. 15, LLCC-Springfield campus, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (for current LLCC students)
  • Oct. 18, LLCC-Springfield campus, 4-7 p.m.
  • Oct. 20, LLCC-Taylorville, 4-8 p.m.
  • Oct. 21, LLCC-Jacksonville, 3-7 p.m.
  • Oct. 26, Springfield High School, 6-8 p.m.

Students and parents/guardians may also get personal assistance completing the FAFSA at the LLCC-Springfield campus, Menard Hall, Room 1173:

  • Oct. 8, 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m.
  • Oct. 22, 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m.
  • Oct. 29, 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m.

LLCC to host financial aid events in Beardstown and Jacksonville

LLCC will host upcoming events in Beardstown and Jacksonville to assist high school seniors and their parents/guardians in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Current LLCC students who will be attending college next year are invited to attend as well.

FAFSA Completion Events are scheduled:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 5, 3-6 p.m., LLCC-Beardstown, 109 White Pine Lane
  • Thursdays, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18, 3-7 p.m., LLCC-Jacksonville, 32 N. Central Park Plaza

Interested students may also take a tour of the facilities and get assistance with enrollment steps.

Need office help?

Federal work-study (FWS) funds are available starting July 1 for the 2021-22 school year. Please go online to https://pa-hrsuite-production.s3.amazonaws.com/573/docs/87618.pdf to submit a job description and contact HR for assistance. After you have a student apply for a job, please contact Lara.Marshall@llcc.edu to see if students are eligible for FWS. If eligible and funds are available, you will then be instructed to complete a hiring proposal.

Extended hours for spring registration and virtual assistance

The spring 2020 semester begins Saturday, Jan. 9, and weekday classes begin Monday, Jan. 11. LLCC Admission, Registration and Financial Aid offices on the Springfield campus are offering extended hours for remote services. Student Success is offering virtual assistance hours where students can “drop in” via Zoom to ask questions about starting spring classes. LLCC Outreach Centers are open remotely during the following hours as well.

  • Monday-Thursday, Jan. 4-7, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 8, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m

LLCC in Taylorville and Litchfield hosting virtual FAFSA completion events

FAFSALLCC in Taylorville and in Litchfield are offering free, personalized financial aid assistance and help in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). LLCC-Taylorville’s event will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2-5 p.m., and LLCC-Litchfield’s event will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2-5 p.m.

Current and future LLCC students are invited to schedule a 30-minute, one-on-one, “Moving Forward” Zoom meeting with a financial aid advisor. To reserve an appointment time, call LLCC-Taylorville at 217-786-2754 or LLCC-Litchfield at 217-786-3401.
