Walk to End Alzheimer’s brown bag lunch event today

  • Join us today, Sept. 20, at noon in Millennium, Room 2203.
  • Bring a brown bag lunch (feel free to get creative and decorate your bag while also listing any allergies like nuts, gluten, citrus, etc.).
  • When you arrive to the event, add your brown bag lunch to the others on the table and grab a number.
  • Once everyone arrives, each person gets to pick a bag not knowing what is in it. You can either eat what is in your bag, or trade with another person (kind of like elementary school when you traded with your friends).
  • If you feel inclined, donate the money you saved from not going out to lunch that day to a charity. We are biased, but we love LLCC’s Team Loggers supporting the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®!

Show off your artwork at the LLCC Art After Hours Exhibit

Art After Hours with clock in "o" of Hours. Springfield Area Arts Council.Your artwork IS good enough! Show it off by participating in the Springfield Area Arts Council’s Arts After Hours (AAH) program (formerly known as On My Own Time).

Artwork entry form and fees will need to be submitted by Monday, Sept. 25 to the LLCC coordinator (Misty Schierer). Artwork is due to Misty by Monday, Oct. 16.

LLCC’s in-house exhibit will be featured on the LLCC-Springfield campus in October/November. The artist of the favorite piece at LLCC will win the LLCC People’s Choice Award and receive a $100 Visa gift card courtesy of the Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum.

This unique program provides LLCC faculty and staff an opportunity to display original art they have created outside the office. There will be an in-house exhibit at LLCC followed by a city-wide exhibit showcasing first place award-winning artwork from all participating businesses, agencies and institutions. The fee assists SAAC with costs of the AAH program.

The basket with handle is light colored reeds with a variety of colored reeds wove randomly horizontally and vertically. A heart shaped ornament with a cross in the center hangs on the front of the basket.

First Data Byte conversation at 11:10 this morning

Join the Data Governance Council (DGC) for the first Data Byte conversation of the fall semester at 11:10 this morning in Millennium Center, Room 2203. This month’s focus will be the rurality of the LLCC student body.

The fall series will take place on the second Tuesday of each month: Oct. 10 (scholarships);  Nov. 14 (probation/suspension students); and Dec. 12 (employees). All will be held in Millenium Center, Room 2203 from 11:10-11:50 a.m. Feel free to bring your lunch. Or maybe you’ll be the lucky attendee who wins a Quiznos lunch!

Zogotech drop-in hours today

LLCC Institutional Research and Effectiveness staff are available during dedicated drop-in hours weekly during the fall semester.
