Professional Development Day is coming up on Tuesday, March 26! View the morning schedule of sessions. Please note that the Poverty Simulation and Your STYLE at Work-Everything DiSC© Workplace sessions require preregistration to attend. Today’s Academic Innovation & eLearning workshops

LLCC Academic Innovation & eLearning is offering the following workshops today:

  • ISO the Academic Integrity of Instructional Materials: Seeking Permission and Source References – Wednesday, March 20, 2-2:50 p.m. in S0119. Quality Matters Standard 4 states that just as faculty require students to seek permission and provide correct citations in their work, instructors should model the same academic integrity for students by providing both source references and permissions for use of instructional materials. Instructional materials come in all shapes and sizes — free online textbooks, journal articles, images, interactive websites and videos. The list is endless.   • Creating Internet Accessible Word Documents – Wednesday, March 20, 3-3:50 p.m. in S0119. Join us for this workshop to review what the color indicators of Ally mean, and how to make them green! Prior to attending this workshop, look at your Ally results for Word documents that have scores in the orange and red range, and bring those files with you. In this workshop you’ll learn how to use the accessibility checker in Word and make edits to your documents, so they can go green and your course improves its Ally score! VALIC representative on campus today

GradFest March 20 and 21

Summer and fall 2018 graduates and potential spring and summer 2019 graduates are all eligible to participate in Commencement 2019 on May 17, 2019. Students will be able to purchase their caps, gowns and tassels for only $25 at GradFest, which is being held today and tomorrow, March 20 and 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons. After GradFest, students can purchase their caps, gowns and tassels from the LLCC Bookstore — in-person or online.

SGA collecting donations today

The LLCC Student Government Association is collecting donations of personal hygiene items today, March 20, in A. Lincoln Commons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, feminine products, toothpaste and toothbrushes will be used to create toiletry bags for Sojourn and the LLCC Food Pantry.

Dance Club coffee and cocoa sale today

The LLCC Dance Club: Express Your Seoul is holding a coffee and cocoa sale today from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons. The sale will feature a variety of creamers along with hot chocolate and all the toppings you can think of! Glazed, powdered and chocolate donuts will also be available for purchase.

Safe Zone training today, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LLCC Student Life is hosting a Safe Zone training today, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the R.H. Stephens Room. Safe Zone training is an opportunity to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions and privilege. Participants who complete this training will receive a LLCC Safe Zone Trained certificate and sticker. Even if you have been through a safe zone training before, this will be an excellent way to refresh!

This event is open to faculty, staff and students. While registration for the event has closed, all are still welcome to attend! Please note that lunch can only be guaranteed for those who have registered.
