Dr. Florence Returns to Discuss Sleep Hygiene

Don’t miss the repeat session of Sleep Hygiene presented by Dr. Nicole Florence.

This one-hour session will explore the significant impact of sleep on our physical and mental health. We’ll discuss strategies for creating a conducive sleep environment, setting a consistent sleep schedule and managing stress, which can disrupt our sleep.  This session will equip staff with valuable insights to help them prioritize sleep and improve their overall performance and well-being.

Dr. Florence currently works as a bariatrician with Memorial Health and has been an active participant in community health.

Join the Heart Safety Expo on Feb. 21

The Heart Safety Expo will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the Trutter Center from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and all employees are welcome to attend. Attendees can expect to:

  • Learn about AEDs, and see a demonstration. Maps will be displayed to help you find the AED in your building.
  • Visit with LLCC PD and Pawfficer Ember about emergencies on campus.
  • Get information on health and wellness opportunities from LLCC’s Community Education group.
  • Discover stress reduction information and techniques provided by Deer Oaks EAP services and HSHS Mind Body Medicine.
  • Learn about resources available from Supplement Superstores and the In Body Machine.
  • Get a blood pressure check from LLCC health care students.
  • Schedule a 10-minute chair massage with staff from Inner Health Spa (Schedules will open on Monday, February 19th).
  • Plus, enter drawings to win a neck massager, pedal exerciser, gift cards to Inner Health Spa, and first aid kits.

All employees are welcome to participate in the self-defense course being held today from noon to 1 p.m. in the Trutter Center. Participants will learn three personal safety tips and three simple, easy to learn and recall, self-defense techniques to counter the most common real-life threats. All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win two free weeks of Krav Maga (self-defense lessons) from Amy Giles at Progressive Kenpo Karate.

Friday is National Wear Red Day in honor of Heart Health Month.
