LLCC Open House, Tuesday, June 18

Prospective students interested in starting or restarting college or training for a new career are invited to visit LLCC for an open house on Tuesday, June 18, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event will be held at LLCC’s Springfield campus and at Outreach Centers in Jacksonville, Litchfield and Taylorville.

“Start here at LLCC, whether you are looking to earn a degree, train for a hands-on career or add new skills,” says LLCC President Charlotte Warren, Ph.D. “Join us at our summer open house to explore majors, our low cost and personalized services that help students reach their goals.”

Visitors can check in at the event information tent and then follow signs to various areas on campus including LLCC Health Professions, Workforce Institute and Kreher Agriculture Center, where they can speak with faculty and staff, view exhibits. learn how to enroll and pay for college, and apply for admission. The event will also feature an outdoor cookout, DJ and student life activities.

LLCC-Litchfield, Montgomery County Career Day

LLCC-Litchfield welcomed nearly 300 high school juniors from Hillsboro, Lincolnwood, Litchfield, Mt. Olive and Nokomis High Schools last Friday, May 3 at their Montgomery County Career Day event. Students heard from community members about jobs in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. Sessions included nursing/pre-med, communications, undecided?, health professions, business/finance, education, law enforcement/criminal justice/emergency services, IT, and workforce programs. Kyla Kruse, chief communications officer, was interviewed by WICS Newschannel 20 on Monday, Feb. 19. WICS covered LLCC’s Open House, which drew more than 300 guests. Visitors spoke with faculty and staff, viewed exhibits, toured select areas of campus, learned about the basics of college and choosing a major, and could apply for admission.

Exhibits open at 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Those interested in visiting Outreach Centers in Jacksonville (32 N. Central Park Plaza), Taylorville (800 S. Spresser) and LLCC-Litchfield (1 Lincoln Land Dr.) can schedule visit times.

“Whether you are in high school or wanting to upskill or start a new career, we welcome you to join us for Campus Visit Day. You can explore classes, majors and our personalized services that help students experience college success,” says LLCC President Charlotte Warren, Ph.D.

The event provides information on how to enroll and pay for college. Visitors are invited to view exhibits and speak with LLCC representatives, tour select areas of campus, attend interactive sessions and apply for admission. Refreshments will feature baked goods from LLCC Culinary Arts.

Spring Campus Visit Day, Feb. 20

Mark your calendars! Spring 2023 Campus Visit Day will be held Monday, Feb. 20, with two sessions, from 10 a.m.-noon and 5-7 p.m.

Campus Visit Day is a special campus preview event designed for individuals interested in starting or finishing a college degree or certificate. The event includes a welcome presentation; interactive breakout sessions; tours of areas within the Kreher Agriculture Center, Nursing Education Center, Workforce Institute and Menard and Sangamon halls; and an exhibit area where visitors can speak with LLCC representatives from various academic programs and student services, learning how to get started with the enrollment process, how to pay for college and other information relevant to becoming a successful college student. Refreshments are provided by LLCC Culinary Arts.
