ALL annual Chilli Supper Sunday, Oct. 30
The LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning will hold its annual Chilli Supper Sunday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Temple B’rith Sholom Social Hall, 1004 S. 4th St., Springfield. The public is invited to attend. The cost is $8 per person and free for youth ages 8 and under.
The supper will feature chilli made by Les Eastep, nationally recognized chilli expert and ALL member. Also on the menu are hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee, with carryout available.

The talk on climate change that Samantha Reif, professor of geology, provided in May is now available on the Illinois State Museum’s YouTube channel. In “Climate Change Through the Ages” she explores how the climate changed naturally in the past millions of years, what our current understanding of this change is and how the current change is different.

A presentation on climate change sponsored by the LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning will air on NPR Illinois Thursday at noon.
Kyla Kruse, director, communications, was interviewed by FOX Illinois on LLCC Commencement. In light of ongoing concerns about COVID-19, event seating will be limited. All guests must have a ticket and will have assigned seats. A livestream of the ceremony will also be available for family and friends.

Climate change presentation series today: “Wind and Air”
The LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning invites the public to “Wind and Air” today, 5:30-7 p.m. via Zoom. It’s part of the free, four-part series on climate change.
Panelists include Kevin C. O’Brien, Ph.D., director of the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) at UIUC and principal investigator overseeing the CWLP carbon capture and storage project, and Michelle Knox, founder and owner of WindSolarUSA and certified site assessor for solar photovoltaics and solar thermal projects. Program moderator is John Stremsterfer, president and CEO, Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln and Next10.org.
