Dr. G. William Zorn, adjunct English instructor, will have a free reading of his new play, “Housekeeping” on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.. The reading is being held at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (600 N. East Street, Bloomington, IL). With apologies to Arthur Schnitzler’s “La Ronde,” the play weaves together the stories of eight individuals whose paths cross through extraordinary means in 2009.
Network maintenance early Saturday morning
ITS will perform network maintenance Saturday from 12 a.m.-2 a.m. All network services will be affected during this maintenance window. This includes Blackboard, email, phone service and the LLCC website.

Phi Theta Kappa is once again hosting a Commit to Complete Campaign to encourage all students to complete their degrees and certificates. Representatives of PTK will be in A. Lincoln Commons the week of Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Community College Completion Corps (C4) encourages students to sign a pledge card which signifies their commitment to complete their degree or certificate. LLCC faculty and staff are encouraged to support students’ efforts to complete their degree or certificate by becoming a “Completion Champion” when they sign an employee pledge card and the “Completion Champions” banner. Last night to see “Your Swash Is Unbuckled”
Tonight is the last opportunity to see “Your Swash Is Unbuckled.” Curtain time is 8 p.m. in the Hoogland Center for the Arts Theatre III.
Three of the plays are world-premieres, authored by Goode just for LLCC Theatre under the direction of Mark Hardiman, LLCC professor of theatre.

LLCC Trutter Museum “Winter Blues” event Dec. 2
Event in support of LLCC art students and Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum
The Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum at LLCC is hosting “Winter Blues,” Wednesday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The fundraiser is being held in the Trutter Center on the Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.
The event offers guests the opportunity to purchase original artwork created by LLCC students such as ceramics and hanging art. Gourmet hors d’oeuvres made and served by LLCC culinary arts students in addition to blues music performed by LLCC’s music students will be presented at the event. A cash bar will be available.
While at the event, guests are invited to view the newest exhibit in the Trutter Museum, “Small World—Near to Far.” The exhibit features nearly 70 items, with 43 small pieces from the Trutter world heritage collection, as well as artwork by LLCC’s current and former art faculty.
Cost is $10 per person, with all proceeds supporting LLCC art students and the Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum. Reservations are requested by calling 786.2785. Admission at the door will be accepted by cash or check only. Advance reservations and art purchases may be made with credit cards.
