The LLCC Foundation invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees to nominate an outstanding full-time, tenured faculty member for the 2020 Drs. Raymond and Ann Pearson Master Teacher Award. This award annually recognizes an exceptional faculty member’s professional contributions to LLCC. A faculty member may receive the award one time only.

Online nominations are currently open. LLCC students, faculty and staff may also log in to Blackboard to access the nomination form. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 7, 2020.

LEAGUE grant application deadline Jan. 31

The deadline to submit a LEAGUE Grant application is approaching. Applications are due in the LLCC Foundation located on the first floor in Menard Hall on Friday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. Approximately $10,000 from the faculty and staff giving campaign known is LEAGUE is available for projects and programs at LLCC.

The application and grant guidelines are available by contacting the Foundation at 786-2785 or by email at LLCCFoundation@llcc.edu. LEAGUE Grant applications are reviewed by a committee and the award recipients will be announced at the LEAGUE kickoff luncheon on March 24.

Thanks to generous faculty and staff who donated to the LEAGUE Campaign, projects that were awarded funding last year include:

  • Drone equipment for "Ready, Set, Drone! at LLCC"Initial equipment and curriculum purchase for the launch of a new youth STEM program “Ready, Set, Drone! at LLCC.”
  • Two iPads for the financial aid team to use to promote the new mobile application for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to students.
  • Students partaking in triage exerciseA cross-discipline, mass disaster, triage simulation.

Thanks to donations from faculty and staff to the LEAGUE Campaign, students like Sara Hadlock at LLCC in Jacksonville, are able to use a laptop equipped with virtual interpreting services and closed captioning.

Applications for LEAGUE grants are due in the LLCC Foundation Friday, Jan. 31, at 5 p.m. Grant guidelines, the application and budget worksheet are available by contacting the Foundation at 786-2785 or by email at llccfoundation@llcc.edu.  Approximately $10,000 will be awarded at the LEAGUE kickoff luncheon on Tuesday, March 24.

Faculty and staff make these grants possible through their generous giving to the annual faculty and staff campaign each spring. Last year, Accessibility Services received funding to provide LLCC students in Jacksonville with a laptop equipped with virtual interpreting services and closed captioning. Foundation 2020-2021 scholarship applications

The LLCC Foundation is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2020-2021 academic year. Please encourage students considering or planning to attend LLCC beginning in fall 2020 to apply. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2020.

LLCC Foundation scholarships are available for first-time and continuing students who will be enrolled full or part time at LLCC. Many of the scholarships are open to students in any program of study, with the average award being approximately $1,000 per academic year. Only one application form is needed to apply for all scholarships. Students submitting a complete application are considered for all available scholarships for which they are eligible.

The online application is available at www.llccfoundation.org/scholarships. An active LLCC email address is needed to apply for these scholarships. Prospective students should first complete a college admission application at www.llcc.edu (click on the blue “Apply” icon) to receive this email address.

Nominations open for 2020 LLCC Honored Alumni Award

Lincoln Land Community College Alumni AssociationLLCC is accepting nominations for the 2020 Honored Alumni Award. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 15, 2020.

Anyone may nominate an LLCC alum (someone who has successfully completed coursework at LLCC) for the award by completing a form at www.llcc.edu/honored-alumni-award.

Nominations will be scored on four criteria: 1) role model – inspiring excellence in others, 2) outstanding success – significant career or personal achievements, 3) impact –accomplishments that changed the community for the better and 4) community service – a visible commitment to the community through leadership and/or volunteerism.

The 2020 honoree will be recognized at LLCC’s commencement ceremony on May 15, 2020.

Past recipients of the Honored Alumni Award include: 2019 – Samuel Wheeler, Ph.D. of Springfield; 2018 – Timothy B. Smith of Cantrall; 2017 – William “Bill” D. In addition to the LEAGUE Grant program, donations to the LEAGUE campaign support LLCC students in a variety of ways including scholarships, program support and emergency needs. Each year, approximately 40 percent of LLCC faculty and staff contribute. Our thanks to our generous LLCC faculty and staff for donating nearly $50,000 to the 2019 LEAGUE campaign!
