BSU to host documentary viewing of “No Title for Tracey”

The documentary shares the story of Tracey Meares being denied the title of class valedictorian because of her race even though she held the highest grade point average at Springfield High School in 1984. LLCC faculty, staff and students are invited to watch this 50-minute documentary and join in the discussion led by Dr. Nicki Florence and Maria Ansely.

Radiography students attend national conference

LLCC radiography students pictured on a staircaseSeven members of LLCC’s Student Radiographers Association recently attended a nationwide radiography conference in Las Vegas. This was the 48th annual Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology (ACERT) Conference with approximately 600 students from colleges and universities across the U.S. in attendance. The LLCC student radiographers participated in a huge Kahoot student challenge and attended many workshops and activities related to their chosen field of radiography.

Fuel Your Interest in PTK

Please encourage students to stop by the lobby of the Workforce Careers Center today from 10 a.m. to 1.p.m. for a snack break. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) will provide chips, cookies and drinks. Members will be there to answer questions about PTK membership.

African-American History Month events

LLCC’s African-American History Month kickoff event, “Paint and Sip,” took place in A. Lincoln Commons yesterday. Participants enjoyed the rich flavors of dark and light hot chocolates while channeling creativity on canvas.

LAB collecting donations for LLCC Food Pantry

The Loggers Activity Board (LAB) students have placed boxes around campus for LLCC Food Pantry donations to help promote the pantry and encourage students to visit. 

These boxes are in the following buildings. 

  • Menard Hall – A. Lincoln Commons   
  • Millennium Center – Lobby 
  • Kreher Agriculture Center – Lobby 
  • Workforce Careers Center – Lobby 

Donations are appreciated and helpful in fully meeting our students’ needs. We encourage donors to provide school supplies, hygiene products and ready-to-eat meals to accommodate our students who may need this support.
