Our sympathy to Gailyn Draper

We extend our sympathy to Gailyn Draper, assistant to the vice president, student services, on the passing of her father, Lawrence J. Sowter, on Nov. 30. A memorial service will be held after the first of the year.

Save the date! LLCC Holiday Party Dec. 15

Start packing for a winter getaway! Faculty and staff are invited to the LLCC Holiday Party on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 4-6 p.m. in the Student Union, Menard Hall.

Assemble your travel buddies and grab a suitcase (box) from Student Life to pack with donations for the LLCC Food Pantry. Travel in style! Decorate your box and bring it to the party. The department whose box earns the most votes will win a pizza party.

HLC Comprehensive Evaluation Visit Schedule, Dec. 5-6

Lincoln Land Community College will host a Higher Learning Commission (HLC) peer review team on Monday, Dec. 5 and Tuesday, Dec. 6. This site visit is part of our Comprehensive Evaluation, an event that occurs in year 10 of the accreditation cycle for HLC Pathway institutions. A site visit typically involves meetings with institutional leadership, the Board of Trustees as well as groups such as those involved in preparing the Assurance Argument. The peer review team members scheduled to visit campus include:

  • Koreen Ressler, VP of Operations, Sitting Bull College (North Dakota)
  • Kimberley Jay Turner-Rush, Faculty – Business, Saint Paul College (Minnesota)
  • Diana Doyle, President Emerita, Arapahoe Community College (Colorado)
  • Kathleen Iudicello, Dean of Instruction, Maricopa Community College – Scottsdale (Arizona)

The site visit schedule includes three criterion open forums as well as an open forum for faculty (see below). Please attend the open forums appropriate to the work you perform at the college. All the open forums will take place in the Trutter Center.

The remaining conversations scheduled for the two-day visit involve the Board of Trustees, some District 526 community partners, and smaller groups of LLCC employees. LLCC closed for Thanksgiving Recess Nov. 23-27

Happy Thanksgiving. LLCC is closed Nov. 23-27.
LLCC will be closed for Thanksgiving recess Wednesday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 27. No classes will be held, and all administrative offices at the Springfield campus and outlying locations in the LLCC district will be closed. Classes and regular business hours will resume Monday, Nov. 28.

The PACE climate survey is scheduled to close on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Some have experienced their PACE survey email invitations landing in junk/spam folders. The emails are coming from <pace_survey@ncsu.edu>. If you are experiencing issues finding the email, please contact Tricia Kujawa who will work with the PACE administrators at North Carolina State University to ensure delivery of the email invite. Your participation is important and appreciated!

As a reminder, the college is currently administering the Personal Assessment of the College Environment (PACE). It will be available through Wednesday, Nov. 23. You should have received an email invite Nov. 1 from Belk Center to participate in the PACE survey.

The survey captures perceptions of the college environment and informs us on what we are doing well and what could be improved. Your participation is important and appreciated!
