The ceremony is sponsored by LLCC Student Life and honors all veterans including LLCC faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces. Following the brief ceremony, refreshments will be served inside the Commons. In the event of inclement or extremely cold weather, the ceremony will be held in A. Lincoln Commons.

Over 200 attendees at 7th annual Haunted Lab

Haunted Lab chemistry experimentMore than 200 kids and parents from the community attended the seventh annual Haunted Lab hosted by the LLCC Chemistry Club on Oct. 25! Both kids and club members were in costume for the event. Kids and parents watched “spooky” chemistry demonstrations and participated in hands-on science activities.  Parents were also given a packet describing science activities they could do with their kids at home.

Student Radiographer Association Yankee candle fundraiser

“Feed the Need” food drive kicks off today

Feed the Need: LLCC Food Pantry Food DriveThe Honors Humanities class is hosting a “Feed the Need” food drive for the LLCC Food Pantry starting today and going through Nov. 8. Today’s kickoff events in A. Lincoln Commons include a demonstration on cooking easy college meals at 10 a.m. followed by Heidi Hughes of the Central Illinois Food Bank speaking on food insecurity. Drop-off boxes are located in Student Life, Montgomery Hall and the Workforce Careers Center. Drop off non-perishables into the designated boxes to earn a ticket for prize drawings (including gift cards and gift certificates to area restaurants) that will be held Monday, Nov. 11.

  • To-go peanut butter cups
  • Pop-Tarts
  • Microwavable mac & cheese cups
  • Tuna salad ready-to-go kits

BSU collecting coats yet today for Eastside Pride’s 13th annual coat drive

Help the LLCC Black Student Union collect clean, slightly used or new coats to be donated to local public schools and shelters for the 13th annual coat drive sponsored by Eastside Pride. A box will be available in LLCC Student Success until Nov. 1. Thank you for helping to keep children and families warm this winter.
