LLCC Open House to be held Oct. 9

Find your path with footprints and pawprintsInformation on college and career training

Prospective students interested in starting or restarting college or training for a new career are invited to visit LLCC for an open house on Monday, Oct. 9, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event will be held at LLCC’s Springfield campus and at Outreach Centers in Jacksonville, Litchfield and Taylorville.

“Start here at LLCC, whether you are looking to earn a degree or train for a hands-on career,” says LLCC President Charlotte Warren, Ph.D. “We invite you to find your path at our open house by exploring majors and our personalized services that help students reach their goals.”

Visitors can check in at the event information tent and then follow footprints to various areas on campus where they can speak with faculty and staff, view exhibits, take tours, learn about how to enroll and pay for college, and apply for admission. The event will also feature an outdoor cookout, DJ and student life activities.

Registration for the LLCC Open House is encouraged and available at www.llcc.edu/open-house or by calling 217-786-2577.

In the news

Mackenzie Bryant, recruitment specialist, was interviewed for this evening’s Friday Night Rivals game featuring Maroa-Forsyth at Auburn to be broadcast on the CW 23. Her interview will be played during one of the breaks in the game, which begins at 7 p.m. She discussed the beginning of the school year and the upcoming LLCC Open House Oct. 9. LLCC is the education sponsor of Friday Night Rivals.

Hannah Werth, head coach, volleyball and sports information specialist, was interviewed on 1450.com’s podcast “The download with DP” Aug. 31. She spoke about her volleyball career and coaching at LLCC.

Sign up to help at the Welcome Week table

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would appreciate your assistance during fall Welcome Week! PRM is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome table in A. Lincoln Commons Aug. 21-24 during the first week of fall classes.

Help students get a great start to the semester by greeting them, answering their questions, providing directions and encouraging them to stop by the Welcome Week events hosted by LLCC Student Life! An FAQ reference sheet will be on the table along with highlighters to help in marking students’ routes to their classes.
