The LLCC Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting a Denim (Jeans) Day Wednesday, April 30 for National Denim Day as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Denim Day began from a court case in Italy where a rape conviction was overturned after determining that taking off tight jeans implied consent. Read more at Denim Day.
Donate a minimum of $5 to purchase a sticker to be able to participate. The Student Life Office will collect donations and will have the stickers available so stop by there!
All proceeds will benefit Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault (PCASA). PCASA will also be on the Springfield main campus that day with information and resources.
LLCC’s Student Government Association, SGA, is sponsoring a Jeans Day tomorrow, Oct. 5, to raise awareness and funds for SIAN: Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network. Faculty and staff can wear jeans with a minimum donation of $5 to be paid in LLCC Student Life. A sticker will be given to those who donate.

It’s Student Government Association (SGA) election application time, and no one knows better than you those students who might have an interest in serving in this capacity and who would be dedicated to the role! We would love a ballot full of students in all different programs and majors, involved in a variety of activities at LLCC, and eager to represent their fellow students. Please encourage student leaders to apply!
The 2023-2024 SGA Election Packet went live on Monday, March 20. This packet includes more information about SGA, each of the positions and qualifications for candidacy. Positions include:
Executive Board (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Officer)
Student Trustee
Representative positions
All positions within SGA carry with them the potential to supercharge a student’s leadership and resume experiences. If you know of students who exemplify some of the best qualities of our student body, please reach out to share this opportunity with them. They will appreciate knowing you think they are up for the role — even if they decide not to run! You are welcome to share names with us as well and we will email letting them know that someone thinks they would be an asset to SGA.
SGA applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 3. SGA and LLCC Student Life will host recruitment events while the application is open so interested students can ask current members or the advisor questions. Those events will be posted on the Lincoln Landing App.
Thank you for your support of SGA and helping us build a great team for 2023-2024!
