Hear from a panel of LLCC international students April 22

“Tasty Tales: Stories of Adapting,”  a Soup and Stories event by a panel of LLCC International Students, will be held Tuesday, April 22, from noon to 1 p.m. in the R.H. Stephens Room.

You are invited to hear our own students’ stories of their experiences adapting to a new culture. Topics will include dating, customs, education, food and leisure activities. Students will discuss the practices of their own countries and the challenging differences between cultures.

A free soup and salad lunch will be provided to students with their student ID. The cost to faculty and staff is $3.

The event is sponsored by LLCC International Club & the LLCC Cultural Awareness Team.

Retirement Party planned for Arts & Humanities Faculty

balloon_retirementThe Arts & Humanities Department is hosting a retirement celebration for four faculty retirees: Mary Fortner, Theresa Kanoza, Jean Ladendorf and Bill McCall.  Their combined retirement reception is Friday, May 9,  2-4 p.m. in the James S. Murray Gallery.  If anyone would like to make a donation to assist with the cost of the event, please see Glenda Thomas in the Arts and Humanities office (ext. 62318).  Hope to see you there!

Anthony Tate, biology instructor, reports on Belize trip
