Lincoln Land Review extends deadline for submissions

Please remind student writers and artists that they have the opportunity to be published in the Lincoln Land Review. The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 15.

Call for Submissions and Annual Competition 2013-2014

Now accepting student submissions in the following categories: Poetry, Academic Non-Fiction, Fiction, Digital Media, Fine Art. Student submissions will automatically be entered for a $50 cash prize for the “best of” within each category. Entries may be on any topic, subject, or theme. Multiple entries welcome. Contest deadline extended to April 15. Winners chosen by Faculty Editors.

WICS was on campus April 1 for a profile of the LLCC softball team.

Jay Kitterman, director, Culinary Institute, was interviewed April 2 for an upcoming SJR story on the popularity of food delivery services.

Bob Howard, director, Truck Driver Training, and Leslie Johnson, director, LLCC-Litchfield, were interviewed April 2 on WSMI radio regarding the free training program for long-term unemployed and LLCC-Litchfield offerings.

Chatham 7 Graders visit campus

A similar sized group will be on campus today from 9-11 a.m. Here, Terri Hinrichs shows four students what’s involved in testing for strep throat. Volunteers for April 8 Read-A -Thon

The Child Development Center will be holding a Read-A-Thon on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.  We are looking for volunteers to read to small groups of children throughout the hour.  All you need to provide is a lap, children will provide you with a book to read!  Please dress comfortably as you will be sitting on the floor!!!  This event is being planned as part of our annual “Week of the Young Child” celebration.

Weight Watchers At Work Series Open House April 10

March Shared Governance Council Meeting Minutes posted

At the March Shared Governance council meeting, a recommendation regarding the Professional Development Team was drafted and the council heard an issue regarding faculty taking classes that was recently put before Faculty Senate.  The council also heard about a new Student Success Workgroup and planned for Team elections in April.  Look out for an email from your constituency for a chance to volunteer or nominate coworkers for positions on the 7 Teams!  Click HERE to view the full meeting minutes.
