The Public Relations & Marketing Office posts a monthly addendum for the LLCC Directory to keep the campus informed of updates throughout the year. Please note, there was no March addendum as no staffing changes occurred.
If you are making NO changes to your current enrollment, there is nothing you need to do to continue your coverage for FY 2015. Employees need to do an online enrollment under the following conditions: changing plans; adding/dropping dependents; contributing to a flexible spending account; declining health insurance coverage (even if you currently decline the coverage.)
For a complete schedule of benefits for each plan and important notices about your health insurance coverage, click on the appropriate link below. Also, for those enrolling in the High Deductible Plan, the designated Health Savings Account form below must be completed and sent to the HR office.
In compliance with the Affordable Care Act, the College has provided a Summary of Benefits and Coverage for each plan offered. This document, in a standard format, summarizes important information about each health coverage option to help you compare across options. Contact HR if you would like a paper copy. Please refer to the provided Schedule of Benefits above for specific plan information.
Two Lincoln Land Community College students in the associate degree radiography program were winners in the research paper and presentation competition at the Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual Conference April 23-25 in Peoria.
Brittney Maus of Chestnut placed second for “Anencephaly” and third place was awarded to Mindy Himes of Pawnee for “Ovarian Cancer.” Both students received a certificate and monetary recognition.
Over 240 second year radiography students from Illinois attended the conference. Out of the papers submitted, two of the three students chosen to present were from LLCC.
Lesley Frederick, vice president, Student Services, was interviewed by WICS on the Illinois Veteran’s Grant and its cost to LLCC due to lack of funding from the state of Illinois.
NOTE: Due to an unfortunate camera angle taken by WICS, the three flagpoles in front of Menard look like one pole with the MIA flag on top. As we all know, there are three poles and our police department always follows proper flag etiquette.
A group of 60 Lanphier High School freshman and sophomores in the Read 180 Program visited the LLCC campus Tuesday, April 29. After hearing a presentation by Terri Hinrichs, recruitment coordinator, about planning and preparing for college during high school, the students toured campus and learned about programs of study available.
A workgroup was formed to review and suggest any necessary changes to the current Associate in Fine Arts Degree (AFA). Please review the attached proposal regarding those suggested changes and give your feedback to a workgroup member (listed below). The workgroup will then evaluate the responses and make a recommendation to the Academic and Admissions Standards Team. We would like your opinions on or before Wednesday, April 30 as we would like to make our proposal at the May 9 Standards Team meeting.
Jim Ruppert, SJ-R sports editor, complimented the LLCC baseball fieldin the April 28 edition: “In my seemingly fruitless quest for the ultimate baseball park experience in Springfield, I have come upon what I have now deemed the best place for baseball in the city: Lincoln Land Community College’s Claude Kracik Field. The home of the Loggers has everything a local ballpark needs: the playing surface is well groomed and no longer holds water, the dugouts can accommodate both teams, there’s a place to park that’s safe, there’s a place to sit and watch, there’s a really good concession stand, there’s a terrific press box and the scenery is pretty nice too. They play good baseball at Kracik Field, too…”
The LLCC softball team was the subject of a profile on WICS and FOX 55 sports yesterday.
