Jolene Lamb, culinary coordinator, LLCC Community Education, will be demonstrating various recipes at the Thursday evening Illinois Product Farmers Market in the Shed at the Illinois State Fairgrounds this evening, July 20 and Aug. 24. Also, LLCC Community Education is partnering with the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau to present “History Cooks,” a series of free cooking and baking demonstrations of dishes from President Lincoln’s time.

Tomorrow, June 23, noon at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Jolene will present “Mrs. Lincoln’s White/Almond Cake” and demonstrate Mrs. Lincoln’s recipe for this dessert. Mary baked the cake for Mr. Lincoln when they courted, after they were married and when she was First Lady. Read more about History Cooks.
