LEAGUE Campaign Kickoff a success

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to participate in the festivities for the kickoff of the annual faculty and staff giving campaign known as LEAGUE.

Some fun facts:

  • Mackenzie Bryant, program assistant, student success, can stack cups into a pyramid in 24 seconds.
  • The Giza Pyramids in Egypt were constructed some 4,500 years ago.
  • 263 faculty and staff ate lunch at one of the three food trucks on Tuesday.
  • The Twyford BBQ truck returned to Jacksonville in 2021 after spending a year in Puerto Rico.
  • Apparently Chinese ancestors were the first who invented chopsticks. They did this by discovering that using two twigs is better for reaching into pots full of hot water or oil, rather than using hands or fingers.
  • Holly Bauman, agriculture program specialist, can move Skittles with chopsticks at breakneck speed.
  • Linc made an appearance at the LEAGUE Kickoff. Linc debuted at LLCC’s Homecoming in February.
  • More than $32,000 has been donated to LEAGUE so far this year in support of LLCC students and programs.

There is still time to make a donation and be eligible for the two $150 cash prize drawing donated by members of the LLCC Cabinet. Complete a LEAGUE 2022 Form or stop by the LLCC Foundation in Menard Hall.

50/50 tickets are still available for purchase in the Foundation through Friday at 5 p.m.
