April is Counseling Awareness Month

Greetings from LLCC Student Success! We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that if you have concerns about a student, we encourage you to refer them to Talkspace, our virtual counseling partner at www.talkspace.com/LLCC. Currently enrolled students were sent information about this at the start of the semester, including the keyword. This is a tele-mental health provider for counseling services for currently enrolled students. LLCC no longer offers on-site personal counseling.

If you encounter students in crisis expressing suicidal or homicidal ideation, please call the LLCC Police Department at 217-786-2278.

Please note: faculty and staff who become aware of students experiencing sexual violence such as domestic violence, dating violence, stalking or sexual assault, whether or not it occurred on campus, should contact Shelby Bedford, compliance & prevention coordinator, immediately. Shelby will provide the student with information about their rights and options, connect the student to LLCC’s confidential advisors, and provide support and resources.

Confidential Advisors: Melissa Franzen and Claire Heffron-McKinney (www.llcc.edu/sexual-violence-resources)

Thank you for all that you do for LLCC students! This has been a really tough year for all of our students, faculty and staff. If faculty or staff need support services, please use the link to learn more about LLCC EAP: https://llcconline.sharepoint.com/HR2/SitePages/Employee-Assistance-Program-(EAP)-Services.aspx
